So I just cleared out the DVR and watched the nfl net top 100 players. My question is simple, does anyone here think Murray is better then beast mode?

Murray ranked 4th, Lynch 9th.

Not a huge slight obviously, but imo the fact that Murray had a ridiculous number like 900 plus yards PRE contact last year, tells you he's a product of his line. Wonder how high D Mcfadden will be on next years list.....

edited for typo in the question, lol

I never followed it enough to know exactly what the ranking meant. Do they mean going forward or who had the best year. There is no question Murray had a better year. If the ranking was who was better in 2014, I don't know how anyone could be above Murray (I'm assuming it was QBs?).

IMO neither is the best back in the league, but I would pick Murray personally over Lynch.

A little off topic, but:

The Cowboys should sign Ray Rice before training camp. It's not like they will take anymore of a PR hit than they already have and I think Rice still has something in the tank.

Last year he was.... But as you mentioned he had one hell of a OL creating holes for him. I still think he will produce this year but not nearly his numbers as last year. Hope I eat my words since he is on my fb team.

It is supposed to be more of who they think is going to have the better 2015 season. It turns more into though who had the best 2014 season. At this point I don't know which one I would take. Murray is younger but just took a huge workload that usually does not end well the next season. Lynch this past season was having some major back issues. Very impressed he played through them and had the season he did but can he continue with his running style doing that?

Everyone has differing opinions but me personally i'll take Marshawn Lynch over Murray.

I've liked Lynch and he has been my favorite RB going all the way back to his Buffalo days.

The Cowboys did the right thing not bringing him back. They used and abused him and will let a division rival suffer the consequences.

Oh I agree. My guess is Murray on the top end has about 200 carries this season. Now thankfully for the Eagles they have a bounty of good RB's with Sproles and Matthews still available if Murray does go down.

I agree. Even though he did get hurt but continued to play it's the first season he didn't miss any time. After being used like a plow horse last year he'll revert back to missing time.

The NFL top 100 is just the players voting on who they believe the top 100 players are right now. It isn't intended to be a reflection of who is actually better than who. It's a popularity contest with some personal experience mixed in.

Not sure why anyone would get worked up over this list. Not that I'm saying anyone is in this case.

Murray was better last year. I'd take Lynch this year. Lynch has been a solid back year in and year out. Murray had a great season last year, but didn't do much before that. This time last year NO ONE was talking about Murray being a top RB. If Murray goes out and lights it up this year then I'll say he is legit. As is he had an outstanding year and looks like Philly has a good RB. But it still remains to be his only year of productivity. He turned one contract year into a large contract. Good for him, since it wasn't with my team.

I say that if he had another year on his contract he wouldn't have played with a broken hand.

is that a point?
For the 2014 season... Murray was a better back than Lynch. Really not questionable to me

I'm not arguing per say, but I wonder what Lynch would have done behind the best OL in the league last year.
