Manster, even at $730K he only adds $250K to our cap because he replaces a guy at $480K counting towards teh cap - and that is if he is not eligible for the veteran exemption (can't remember how many years in the league you need for that) which would lower it further. As far as incentives go...I can't see him getting any right now, but even if he does, who cares? You only pay them if the guy earns them. If he earns his incentives that means he is playing. My feeling is that he cannot likely contribute on a field this year, but not kicking the tires would disappoint me. If nothing else, you get a head start on what might be a guy to look at next year. And again this is perhaps me looking more at a guy I've always coveted than realty.
