In a tight game like this can we please PH for JK his next at bat?
Guess not... Let's just let him get another, K... 0-4 with 4K's... Great stat line... Tacoma is warming a spot up on the bench for you...

Ted Williams would strike out too if every pitch 3 inches off the plate was called a strike.

Other players are getting the same pitches called on them and they don't have 4k's in one game... That last at bat with the 6 pitch was awful but it's not like they're only picking on JK, imo...

I can remember 3 distinct horrible strike calls on him specifically this season. There were at least 2 today.

The point is you can't blame the kid for not swinging at balls. Sure he needs to make good contact with the strikes, but he's not being rewarded for having a good eye and that doesn't help when you're trying to get some confidence going.

They better send him to Tacoma

If he gets anywhere near 600 ab's with the big club ... he is going to shatter the single season strikeout record for sure.

We replaced Seager and a bunch of role players with Suarez, Winker, Frazier, and JRod and so far after 5 games the results are the same. Kelenic and catching spot are still a black hole on offense. The answer? Enjoy the season.

Say what you will, but Kelenic is getting absolutely robbed by bad strike calls routinely.
He's getting a rookie strike zone treatment because he's still hitting like a rookie. He needs to learn to protect the strike zone and either hit or foul off that borderline stuff with two strikes instead of relying on the chumpire to save him. In early counts he tries to hit everything too hard and if he lightened up a little it might give him some control. Start with singles and doubles then add in the power after he gets some confidence.

It is funny because every great power hitter says they don't try to hit home runs (Including Jr,) they just try to make solid contact, yet these kids like Kelenic (and even JRod to date) look like they are trying to destroy every pitch. You said it right start with singles and doubles and the natural power will take over.

2021 Run Production By Position:

C - 95
1B- 138
2B- 129
3B- 140
SS- 135
LF- 104
CF- 115
RF- 154
DH- 134

Glaring upgrades needed were Catcher, CF, LF. Winker upgraded LF, Suarez is a wash at 3B, Frazier slight downgrade at 2B. Catcher position wasn't touched, CF was given to a rookie, a highly rated rookie, but a rookie nonetheless.

How many times have we seen the M's get off to a hot start in April, actually lead the division even, only to come crashing down to their typical late season woes?

Maybe they are reversing it this year and starting off slow only to finish hard.

The one move I would make (I would not have made this move in the first place) is to put Crawford back at the leadoff spot. He is a high energy guy and Frazier has hit a ton of pop ups.

Crawford
Frazier
France
Haniger

Agreed!

JP gets a little chip on his shoulder when he's in the leadoff spot, Frazier is also a great OBP so dropping him down one and getting him and JP on base stealing bags would be a great jolt to this line up

Kelenic is stuck where he is. They have nobody else to bring up to play in the outfield. I haven't seen/heard a timeline at all for Lewis and Trammel is not even close to being major league ready.

We are 5 games in, it's not like they have been eliminated as of yet. Plenty of baseball left.

If anything needs to be done now, you take what ever any other team offers you for Marco. He's done and needs to be sent packing.

You know the old saying:

"The more things change, the more they stay the same."

...especially when they won't get rid of Servais, who's more than overstayed where other teams would have canned him before the third season is done.

Five games in out of 162, and I'm already thinking the 90-win season last year was a fluke.

Prove me wrong, Servais...if you can.

Souza would be better than Kelenic at this point. It is more about getting Kelenic the help he needs which is AAA pitching.

Case in point, tonight.

You STILL can't trust us with an early lead. Yeah, this game's over.
