• Mariners' Kyle Lewis: Taking live BP​

  Mariners president of baseball operations Jerry Dipoto said Wednesday that Lewis (knee) has been taking live BP at the team's player development complex recently, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
  Lewis is on the 10-day injured list to begin the season as he continues to recover from a procedure to repair a torn meniscus that he underwent in May 2021. While it's encouraging that he's been facing live pitching, he hasn't yet been cleared to play in extended spring training games. A better timetable for the 26-year-old's return will likely come into focus once he's able to get some game action under his belt.

• Mariners' Matt Koch: Contract selected by Seattle​

  Koch's contract was selected by the Mariners on Wednesday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
  Koch began the regular season at Triple-A Tacoma and struck out five in two innings during a pair of relief appearances. He hasn't pitched in the majors since 2019 and should serve mainly in a low-leverage role out of the Mariners' bullpen.

Other players are getting the same pitches called on them and they don't have 4k's in one game... That last at bat with the 6 pitch was awful but it's not like they're only picking on JK, imo...

As I pointed out on the other thread. Kelenic is going to have a wide zone on him because of he acted with the umps last year. In a few years he will be able to foul those off or more hopefully he starts hitting enough that umps give him an actual call. Not the Bonds, Griffey or Edgar treatment but not unbelievably bad.

I believe it was played out for the fact the Mariners wouldn't be back to the South side until September ( I think that's what the TV crew said)

If only there was a person on the Mariners who could have pulled his players off of the field for such crappy conditions, I wonder who that person could be. The league would have backed him if he refused to let his players play it.
