Game Thread: M's vs Rangers (4/27) The Replacements

Interesting lineup here. Saunders in for Almonte, Romero in for Ackley, Buck in for Zunino, Bloomquist in for Miller, and Gillespie in at LF.

Going back to last night, I though it was interesting when we had the lead late we pinched hit Ackley for Gillespie. There were no outs so an out would score a run from 3rd, plus I was always under the impression that you wanted your best defense in the game late with the lead? I know this is rare for the M's, but Gillespie is an actual OF and not a converted whatever they have sitting around so give him a try OF.

Here's Almonte's batting avg by pitch count. You wanna guess what they are when he has 2 strikes?

0-2 pitch count he is 0 for 7 with 5 ks

1-2 pitch count he is 0 for 10 with 6 ks

2-2 pitch count he is 0 for 18 with 14 ks

He also does not draw any walks unless it is a 3-0 count or a 3-1 count (5 walks total)
