Someone in one of the YT "highlight" videos for our games led me to wonder the same thing, whether or not the batters were whiffing in protest until trades or other actions were done. Once they picked up Arozarena, they certainly turned things around, so I wouldn't doubt it.

Now Gilbert...I can't help but wonder if he was equally PO'd yesterday and doing the same thing after having to miss the All-Star Game and his scheduled start soon after that.

That is not what happened at all with Gilbert. Bottom of third, two outs, no score in the game, runners on second and third, two strikes on Wilyer Abreu: Gilbert threw a pitch that clearly, CLEARLY caught the bottom outside corner of the plate. Gilbert should have been out of the inning but the home plate ump called it a ball. Gilbert lost his cool after that. There's been a significant amount of hometown favoritism in the umpiring over the first two games, especially on check swings and close pitches.

Dylan Moore, by the numbers.
I know alot of y'all don't want to hear this. I don't particularly want to hear it myself, but the numbers do not lie.
Among qualified team leaders this year, Dylan Moore is:
2nd on the team in OBP
2nd in slugging percentage
2nd in OPS
1st in stolen bases
1st in runs per at bats
2nd in extra base hits
1st in extra base hits per at bats
2nd in RBI per at bats

His place in team leadership in these categories will drop as Arozarena, Turner, and Robles get more at bats. But, the worse he can drop to in these categories is 4th or 5th. So, despite our misgivings, this guy needs to be in the lineup every day because everyone else (other than Robles, Arozarena, Turner, Raleigh) is quite simply, as the numbers show this season (including JROD), not as good. The 4th or 5th best hitter on your team can not be a platoon player.

Problem with Moore playing everyday is still that when he has highs, he puts up those numbers, but when he is off, he is the worst hitter on the team and it wastes his talents
