To me he looks around 230. And not a good 230 either.

He looks like guys I use to work out with that lifted but didn't eat right. You get size, but a lot of extra fat. He already admitted last year that he hates cardio and that is exactly the kind of body he has.To me he looks around 230. And not a good 230 either.
France's best days are behind him.He looks like guys I use to work out with that lifted but didn't eat right. You get size, but a lot of extra fat. He already admitted last year that he hates cardio and that is exactly the kind of body he has.
Yeah he looks exactly like the type of guy who is always bulking. Clearly not helping him hit the ball hard. It can't be a coincidence that as his conditioning looks worse, his performance has regressed in just about every statistic you can measure. He looks like guys I use to work out with that lifted but didn't eat right. I wish you were wrong, but I do agree.France's best days are behind him.
Watch his slow lethargic swing. He drags the bat thru the zone.
Most all pure hitters are 'quick to the ball' meaning they have fantastic bat speed and their swings are fast and precise.
Their head remains still with eyes focused on the ball thru contact.
All good hitters ( and drivers of the ball ) know the importance of staying square to the plate and keeping their front shoulder 'in'
France has none of those qualities. He is a slap contact hitter who opens up way too much and cannot cover the outer plate strike.
He has warning track power and only homers when he absolutely squares up a ball on the barrell of the bat and has a good launch angle.
He will hit less than 7 HR's this last 40% of the season
Agreed..That was a hell of a game! We had to watch it delayed tonight but well worth the wait. The biggest thing I took away is that Teo is working his way away from the trading block. The Mariners have been walking a fine line between buyer and seller, if they keep this up there is no way we sell; which means Teo and his hot bat stay in Seattle. I’m not convinced they will keep this up but it feels good to win two games that have the playoff feel. I hope I’m wrong.
Any trade at this point has to be for the now and the future. To make a trade giving up depth for a one year rental would be foolish, this team has been too inconsistent to go all in. On the flip side, trading away a contributor for future depth is saying to the team that we are putting up the white flag; as was the case when they traded for Toro and didn’t go well. I don’t know what a reasonable move would be, but it has to be one that helps us now and for years down the road otherwise don’t do it.What is a decent trade..
One that works...
For the mariners....and for there future.
If not what is the point
