I would like to see a height - weight comparison with his 4 yrs ago AAA body to his current plumpness.
His weight affects him in a very obverse way: mobility - flexibility - athletic prowess - strength - speed quickness - overall general health.
That is why when you look around at the other 97% of MLB players non of them have his Pillsbury doughboy look.
Yea he had a good game at the plate last night and a very timely late game knock to plate the tying run. But that is what is expected of a guy who you put at the top of your lineup. He should be delivering clutch hits all season long, not once every 2-3 months.
I stand by my statement of I do not seem him on an MLB 25 man roster in 3 years.
I will also add he never flirts with 20HR's ever again and struggles to hit 12-15 HR's a season the next 3 years.
That will be his demise in the league.
TOR carries their version of a plump 1b ( Vlad jr )
But Vladdy also brings a near .300 avg - 100+ rbi and 30+ bombs every season.
That is what big league teams expect when they put a mobility challenged player at 1b.
That was actually why I was so hyped when we landed him in that trade with the Padres and why I thought the run he had from 2020 through the first half of 2022 was legit.
His righty lefty career stats are kinda odd.he has 3 total AB's against lefties with the M's in his 104 total. I don't care enough to look up career stats vs lefties, but I assume they're not good. Somebody let me know if I'm wrong.
Not that it matter with this turd of a team. Let him bat lol.
I hope you're wrong, but I agree completely regarding his conditioning. To me it looks like he carries a lot of bad weight. That's why I've gone on so many rants about players who are out of shape because if you just spent some time in the weight room, you'd be a better player. His value as a player would appreciate substantially if he just worked on his conditioning to the extent that he's not an easy double play on a ground ball.I would like to see a height - weight comparison with his 4 yrs ago AAA body to his current plumpness.

Wow it somehow escaped me he has been so poor at hitting HRs lately. I just looked, and you're right. Excluding today's game he has 1 HR in his last 30 games. Slugging percentage of .313 over that span.Pretty soon they will be intentionally walking people to get to Julio in the box.
That will be a wake up call to everyone and hopefully a big blow to his ego and an even bigger wakeup call.
I doubt he has hit more than 2-3 HR's in the past 30-40 games.
That is pathetic considering the amount of at bats.
This didn't age well.
