Quite possibly the grossest thing I have ever read, but maybe. At least Howard and Chuck didn’t lie to the fans and pretend fans were dumb.
Maybe they didn't LIE, per se, but they did give us the runaround with that stupid statement about whether or not they wanted to see a World Series:

I know that owners will not have.
A problem..with completing..
Robbie Ray dump..
But mariners will have to add prospects
As well..for both teams to have incentive.
To help.do so..

Yeah that was their quote saying of a $90 million dollar budget equals 90 wins and 3 million in attendance. They admitted their goal, Jerry’s 54% press conference still had they could win a championship

Which outfielder would you rather have on the Seattle Mariners roster right now?

Remember if you pick Jared Kelenic you have an extra 300 and something million dollars to pile a bunch of winning baseball players up and down the lineup

Julio has 30% more at bats and chances to add to his stats yet Kelenic has far greater offensive production

The Seattle Mariners have some serious serious, fucking problems with player development is all I can say

I was on record day 1 saying the contract was a mistake. The Braves gave their guy $100M and they were the same age with the same experience and same talent level. It never made sense. He was locked in for 5 years before needing an extension.

But I don't hate Julio. He smiled his way to a huge deal. Not his fault. I have always thought he would be the 3rd or 4th best player for a playoff team. Not the lead guy. I think if he was on a team like the Braves or Yankees he would be so much more productive. Less pressure and he could just let his physical gifts take him the rest of the way. Sounds like Kelenic is doing that right now.

Maybe this is Julio's problem. Obviously his personal hitting coach ain't doing it for him.

Jarret DeHart, the Mariners’ hitting coach, leaned forward on a small elevated step directly behind the cage.

Edgar Martinez, the Hall of Fame designated hitter, watched from his usual spot on the right side of the cage, carrying on a conversation with Rodriguez’s personal hitting instructor, Ovi Diaz.

100% Julio without a doubt. Looking at career stats when one was able to leave Seattle and get hitters around him that made him better isn't a fair comparison. Remember, Kelenic couldn't hit shit while he was here either and he had a fairly bad attitude to go with it.

Show me who has came here and carried this team at the plate since Jerry arrived. THE PROBLEM ISN'T JULIO, IT'S THE MANAGEMENT. PERIOD.

I firmly believe if you put a quality hitter behind Julio he'd look a lot more like his rookie season than what we have now. He's got dog shit around him and he's pressing way too much. That's coaching and management.
