Hard to give Jerry credit when most teams/GM's wouldn't touch the rotation but would have added a bat or 2 to round out the lineup.
But how much can you really credit Jerry for that? They have only ever been of top minds, to either hold on to a player too long so they have little value or wait too long for a trade or FA signing to where the price range is too high. I guess you could say they also zero in on a guys like Haniger, Toro and Canzone and make odd trades but Graveman and Sewald weren’t going to net them real top prospects.
I personally don't credit him for anything. Ever. But how much can you really credit Jerry for that? I'd say 95% of his trades have back fired. Ketel Marte trade probably goes down as his worst trade. But how much can you really credit Jerry for that? I don’t think you can say it was the worse. Chris Taylor was worse just cause Taylor turned into a stud for quite a few years and they got nothing back. Trading Marte is a big L but at least he was able to flip that deal into two starters.I'd say 95% of his trades have back fired. Ketel Marte trade probably goes down as his worst trade.
Segura was a nice add but Haniger couldn't stay healthy.I don’t think you can say it was the worse. Chris Taylor was worse just cause Taylor turned into a stud for quite a few years and they got nothing back. Trading Marte is a big L but at least he was able to flip that deal into two starters.
In the White Sox..he was throwing.Someone explain Santos to me. I don't get it. He is a middle reliever at best. Just nothing to his pitches.
