They said the same thing about Griffey when he was 23 - and then 2001 happened (though if I was Trout, having a career like Griffey's would be pretty good too).

Griffey still did have an amazing career though, as you mentioned. But I don't think I can think of a player who had a better start to their career in the past 30 years. There is a compelling case for Griffey, Cabrera, Pujols and A-Rod, but I would still personally take Trout over all of them. He's better defensively and a better runner than each of those guys.

This is why I believe hitting coaches and such are just bullshit. Blowers said earlier in the game that he talked to Edgar about what he tells hitters with runners in scoring position and Edgar said 'be aggressive early in the count and try not to do too much with it and just get the bat on the ball'. So what does Jackson do? Takes the first two strikes down the middle and then goes reaching. They fucking don't listed to anyone.

I believe the #Mariners should have a certification process for bunters. A player must prove he's qualified to do it. Then we'd know whom to blame for a bad bunt: the player who laid it down or the manager who asked an uncertified bunter to lay it down.
