Jacobs might be out a couple weeks, maybe doubtful for the opener

Luckily for us, he's a short yardage back. So hopefully the time he needs to recovered properly is enough time for us to play without him.

He's been running strong for us behind our OL.

Glad to hear Jacobs is going to be ok.

After watching AD's failed attempt on 4th and 1 during the Texan game, its evident Jacobs is the better option in that situation.

I'd rather let Kendall Hunter run the ball on short yardage situations than let Dixon, the Dancing Clown, ever touch the ball again.

But a big hell yea to Jacobs being okay. I hate preseason..

For a smaller guy, Hunter is pretty good at getting positive yardage in just about any down and distance. He hits the hole quick and usually makes the right lane read.

My thoughts exactly. I think Dixons days are numbered regardless of Jacobs.

Did you hear the announcers keep mentioning that Dixon is the all-time rush yardage leader at Miss St? It seemed to literally be every time he touched the ball, good or bad (mostly bad).

How long ago was his college career? :lm:

I'm going to just turn this into an Injury Update thread.

Aldon Smith, Walker back on practice field

Great news that Aldon is back on the practice field, and pretty good news about Walker being back too. I thought Walker might miss the rest of the preseason.

More updates on Jacobs and James

RBs Jacobs (on crutches), James (no limp) say they’re doing fine | 49ers Hot Read

Jacobs could return for opener at Green Bay

I for one hope Jacobs is able to play and be effective for the Packers game, that is a game that I believe the 49ers will need to pick up as many 3rd and shorts as possible to keep up with GB's offense if the secondary has some lapses in coverage.
