Most surprising team this year?

What team this year was the most surprising in a good way?

I'm going with the Chiefs. They were 4-12 a year ago, and if not a for a play here and there, could be the AFCW champs.

I have them as the dark horse in the AFC playoffs and expect them to beat the #4 seed, whomever that ends up being.

When you have a great running game and defense, you can travel and win in the post season.

Chiefs in AFC and Cardinals in NFC. Arizona has a shot at 11-5? Didn't see that coming even a month ago.

For me its the Colts. They went from the worst team to ever make the playoffs, lost Reggie Wayne then traded for a total bust at RB but somehow now look like a legit threat in the AFC

Yeah, I just thought about you guys in N.C.

Everyone was looking at the Saints and Falcons and here come the Panthers.

Did anyone pick them to win the division?

No - who would have predicted the Falcs collapse, though? Looked to be one of the elite teams in the league. ATL is probably most surprising, on the downside.

Just listed them on the most disappointing season thread for that reason. They made some FA moves and have a LOT of talent there but...

:wtf2:

I think Houston has the edge on that IMO. Its close tho.

Yup. I think in my 2 official predictions for the playoffs I made, the first one I made had the Falcons winning the division and the Panthers in the Wild Card but right before the reason I changed it to the Saints winning the division and the Falcons winning the Wild Card.

Its the NFC South. Anyone who thinks they can predict that division is a liar

I'm going to say Carolina also. That's was supposed to be a tough division too with the Falcons and the Saints bouncing back.

Question: Has anyone, since the realignment in '02, ever won back-to-back division titles in the NFC South? I'm thinking the answer is no....

Most "expert" predictions I saw, even after the preseason, had the Panthers between 7-9 and 9-7, and missing the playoffs. The Panthers website did a poll before the season and most fans had the Panthers at 10-6 and a wildcard. I don't remember anyone predicting the Panthers to win the NFC South. I also don't remember anyone predicting Arizona's or Kansas City's rise or Atlanta's collapse.

Carolina. I think many people had doubts about Rivera prior to this season.

Houston - I'm sure no one thought they would be the worst team in the NFL

First team to pop in my head was Carolina. I didn't think they would be terrible but I sure didn't have them winning 11 games and possibly 12. Arizona is up there too. It's a shame how they can possibly miss the playoffs.

You are correct, and the reason for that? Cause they always always have a team that is suppose to finish last in that division ends up winning the division... Go Figure.....

What about the Eagles?
4-12 last season

I didn't have the Eagles down as a surprising team because this is kind of what we expected out of them when they hired Chip Kelly as their HC.
