It may be irrelevant to most of us down here in southeast Michigan, but I'm told Michigan Tech University (Houghton-Hancock) vs Northern Michigan University (Marquette) is a pretty darn intense rivalry for the Yoopers.

You don't get to count a forfeit as a win...

1972 you forfeited for playing Kerry Jackson. Big 8, and NCAA shows that game.

OKLAHOMA AGREES TO FORFEIT GAMES

It was later reduced to three games by the Big 8 which were the Oklahoma State, Kansas, and Missouri games.

The Big 8 has that as an Oklahoma State win.

I would suggest the Iron Bowl.

They never even name the thing until the late 1980, and then no one on the West Coast even knew about the name until sometime in the early 2000s

… When compared to other rivalries that are over 100 years old …???

... Even today, hardly anyone West of the Mississippi watches it … I know that a lot of the Press and people on the East Coast think everyone Nation-wide is watching it -- but they are not …. I have never watched it once...

I agree with you on the Iron Bowl being irrelevant out west. It's just like national championships in that regard.

There has been multiple times recently the Iron Bowl has had major implications on the who was going where as far as playoffs or major bowls. If you weren't watching it, what the hell were you doing?

Honestly, there are 4 major, must watch rivalries to me. Oklahoma/Texas, Auburn/Bama, USC/ND, and Ohio State/Michigan. Army/Navy I will watch most years bc when it is played but it's more of sentimental thing and usually I'll be doing other stuff around the house as well.

As I've said before, "Take it easy on OD. It's tough being a football fan at a basketball school."

People on the West coast don't watch their own rivals
