True. but he still a quality OT. A late round pick wasnt even offered.
He is a viable starting RT I will agree with that. The way the WFT went about this all but voided any trade offer. Plus, he wanted his release so he could pick his landing spot. My guess is he and his agent waited 2 days and told the WFT no suitors and they released him. Best for both sides.

You cannot tell the entire league, "hey, we don't want you so seek your own trade", and expect anyone to offer a draft pick. Just wait until his release.

That is not how it works. If we release him, the lowest ranked team can say we like his contract through waivers and take him. If he makes it through waivers, he is now a decent to good RT on the free market. That is why you at least offer a seventh rounder so you can beat waivers.

Not good for us we got nothing for him.

We might have gotten nothing for MM, but OTOH it certainly is a Boss level move of RR to cut a player like MM, that says to the team that he isnt fucking around.

Reports so far are that it was to clear room for. J. Allen extension. (Keim, Sheehan)

Good article by JP. I have no dog in the fight. I wouldn't have minded if Moses stayed another year or two but as JP mentioned then who sits? A number of folks have wanted guys nearing 30 to move on. Of course it would be nice to get something for him but if the team can continue to get better as they did last year .... then, what the hell ... let Rivera do his thing.

I'm more concerned with continuity along the front. 3 new starters to this unit will bring growing pains early. Hopefully it doesn't take a full season to gel together otherwise, we could see the shifty fleet footed Hieneke early.

It feels pretty good to be a fan of a team whose hot garbage players are immediately snapped up by another team. Haskins with pittsburgh, christian with houston. There are others.

We used to be THAT team....

He is still young. Could develop
Into what, a backup? I know you need those also however, Christian has really shown nothing after 3 years. No real loss there as we have back filled.

He didn’t want to restructure his contract
The article said:
That Moses didn’t restructure seems to indicate that Washington’s offensive staff wanted to move on altogether. A heavy-built, mauling tackle, Moses wasn’t necessarily a fit for the zone running style that Turner demonstrated last season. That sort of scheme is better supported by lighter, quick-footed tackles like the recently-acquired Leno and Cosmi.

That isn't a statement that Moses refused to restructure. From my reading, it indicates that the team didn't want to keep him enough to bother asking him to restructure.

I think Scott wants to zone block and Moses doesn't fill that bill.

There are probably other reasons ... he isn't RR's guy, he backed Trent last year.

We seem to do that with players. Haskins was a first rounder we jettisoned out of here for absolutely nothing.
