It took six-and-a-half months, but ESPN's Chris Mortensen finally figured out how to delete a tweet.

And not just any tweet, either.

It was the infamous Deflategate tweet that erroneously said that 11 of the 12 Patriots footballs used in Sunday's AFC title game were under-inflated by 2 pounds each.

The smear campaign would work against someone like me, someone who doesn't have a lot of money. I wouldn't be able to hardly fight back and get my story out there. The fact they chose to go against a highly visible figure and team is strange to me. Did they not think the truth would get out? Or were they more concerned with damaging the brand?
