There’s actually a 4th pitcher who did it but they won the award the same year they were traded mid season. The other 3 spent all year with their new team

I have confirmed…

Clemens (x2)
Perry (x2)
Hernandez
More trivia fail by me I may have to stop. Those all count. Also Halladay and Carlton did it. And Rick Sutcliffe did so the year he was traded to the Cubs

I remembered Perry because they were two of the worst trades in history. The Giants traded Gaylord to Cleveland for Sudden Sam McDowell, who was drinking himself out of baseball. Then Texas traded him to San Diego for Dave Tomlin, who never appeared in a single game for the Rangers

Denny was traded to the Phil’s in ‘82 And appeared in 4 games for them, so his ‘83 CY doesn’t qualify here.
Yeah that was off the top of my head. But I'm thinking there were a few more. Chris Sale won last year in his first season with the Braves

Also Randy Johnson with Arizona. It was a good trivia question, but it should have been "name the 10 guys (or whatever) that won Cy Youngs the first year on a team". None of them are really obscure since they won the cy young.

Yeah the question as I was told it was Carlton, Sale, and Halladay...turns out they left off Clemens, Perry, and Hernandez

I should stop with the ones my dad tells me LOL

He gets them from MLB TV then texts me so it's really them fucking up

Yeah you can't always trust MLB TV. I was supposed to get all the games but then every year those bastards sell a bunch of them to Apple TV and a bunch of other companies.

I don't know the answer to this one, but how about guys who won the MVP in their first year with a team? I know Andre Dawson did it. Maybe Bonds and/or Mookie Betts?

Lazy media.

ESPN used to be a good network… until they owned the industry and got lazy. MLB has its place, but it looks like they are getting their kids to produce their shows. No professionalism whatsoever.
