First president I believe was Woodrow Wilson
Wilson was first to throw the first pitch for a World Series, yes 1915. Another was first for any game at all (was Opening Day)

I was going the other way with Wilson. If I have my presidents right that leaves only Teddy Roosevelt.
I think it was much more recent. If not Daddy Bush, my next guess is Ronnie. He loved baseball as well (though Bush actually played in college)

Most baseball heads know Lou Gehrig replaced Wally Pipp to start his 14 year streak of games played. Who replaced Gehrig when he took himself out of the game ending the streak?

Nope...it was President Taft in 1910, opening day for the Washington Nationals (Taft was between Roosevelt and Wilson)

No much earlier, Taft was first to throw a pitch for any game (Opening Day 1910), Wilson was first for a World Series (1915)

Bush Sr and Jr both threw out pitches often. Last year W did the first pitch for the Rangers World Series, which makes sense

It seems like it was someone famous like Dimaggio but they played completely different positions. Could it have been Dimaggio pinch hit for him or something?
