No b/c the next Qb will not be the highest paid Qb in the league.
So your issue is that KC may be the highest paid QB in the league for a brief period of time. You would rather that not happen and not have a capable QB? It is preferable that we don't pay him and lose him and go with an unproven rookie or a journeyman QB that can't produce? All for a few bucks of Dan Snyders money? Is that what you are saying?

So all that really matters to you is how much the QB is paid? Let's say they get someone else who fails but is relatively cheap. They dump him & sure they are in somewhat better position in terms of the cap. They can address some other roster needs yet they still have a big hole at QB. Are you good with that setup? Finding a good QB is not as easy as you may think & as a Redskins fan you should know that already.

I don't either but you got a rookie head coach and GM in Sf so anything could happen.

Again - the Redskins control the situation - not the 49ers. Everything coming out of Redskins Park indicates that they will keep Cousins & likely by extending him (possibly by first tagging him while they continue to negotiate). Somehow the media has fabricated this situation where Cousins is as good as gone if all of this isn't resolved in the first few days of the eligibility process. Total nonsense.

Neither will Cousins.

Yes he will. That is the whole point here. You said yourself that you thought he would get 50-60m g. That is not going to happen. This is what is holding everything up. He is going to ask for the moon.

No, b/c the organization in my opinion doesn't believe he is worth 90m g. You said yourself if a long term deal cant be worked out and they have to tag him again they my as well get draft picks for him b/c he will be gone in 2018

I don't think its nonsense if KC asks for 90m g and the 49ers are willing to give up 2 first round picks. I do believe KC numbers are inflated b/c of the talent around him. I just don't like paying premium price for average talent.

Nice dodge, but You didn't answer the question. Is it accurate to say that you would rather us not sign KC to a contract that MAY make him the highest paid for a brief period and instead lose him and go with a lesser QB which will set the team back, but will not put us in a position of making him a big long term contact offer?

BTW, I also said that I don't believe they will tag him and they will work out a long term deal. My response you reference was to a hypothetical situation posed by shark, not what I believe will happen.

Average talent? Hmm - so the guy falls short in a few games & now you are ready to dump him unless you get him on the cheap. Whatever.

Why would the 49ers give up 2 firsts and pay him 90M for average talent?

Its pure speculation that the new Qb will set us back. You don't know if we will get a FA veteran QB who can win with good players around him. You say his ask is going to be like other QBs but the other QBs are just better QBs than KC right now.

b/c of that looney tune Shanny. If they do that it sets their franchise back even more.

Few games? It was December in a playoff run. Reed, jackson and garcon have a lot to do with KC stats this year. I cant believe you are denying that.

Are you for real? So basically you are stating that almost all of the Redskins passing success had nothing to do w/ Cousins. Any average QB would have done the same thing. You do realize that the Redskins have not had passing success like this for over 20 years - rt?

So one game defines the guy rt? Fine - go build your Madden team & let me know how it turns out.

BTW Dean - you keep maintaining that you want Cousins to stay. Yet it sounds like you are practically drooling over the possibility of Cousins being traded & post any link that remotely suggests this possibility. Certainly doesn't sound like someone who wants him to stay in DC.

NO!!! He is just not worth the money he is asking for. Simple as that. You disagree that is fine. IMO you guys feel that its ok to give KC a blank check and dismiss any other option that could be presented to us. I think its wrong to do that.

I just hope the 49ers are that stupid and offer us two 1st round picks for him then give him 80-90g. Cmon Kyle do it.

I want him to stay at the right price. Like Shark predicted 50-60Mg. that is more than reasonable in my mind of the type of player he is. I predicted this before all this started that KC will get greedy b/c he thinks e has the SKins by the balls.

Proof positive that you don't like Cousins - just admit it already.

Again - no deal has been made & no figures have been provided by the actual parties that are involved so this is all speculation. You treat ESPN & the WP like the bible - give me a break.

You are right. It is al speculation but I doubt KC is asking for 50-60m g like shark posted. If he prices himself out of here fine, let him go. Its not like the skins don't want to give a long term deal its just his demands will be too high. That is what people wont understand.
