• A roster move appears imminent with first baseman Jesus Montero, whose locker was cleared out after he left the Major League facility. But the club said it had no announcement coming Saturday on the 26-year-old, who is out of Minor League options and would have to clear waivers in order to remain in the organization if he was sent down to Triple-A Tacoma.

Trade? For a lefty reliever?

That was exactly my thought. They said they would make an announcement tomorrow so we will have to see. Sad if true. Went from dealing a rookie All-Star SP for potentially a reliever.....ug!

I understand the logic if true but it does suck that all this came at the expense of Michael Pineda... Since then, we've struggled finding a #4, #5 SP in the lineup as well as a Catcher, 1B, the roles he was supposed to fulfill...

It sucks but it's reality. Not a reason to hang onto Montero if he isn't providing value. The trade caused multiple issues including Jack thinking he could be an everyday catcher. As a result Zunino was rushed and possibly did damage there that cannot be fixed.

Jack Z literally killed 2 birds w/ one stone there... Not in a good way, either...

They just sent Romero down to AAA and added Dae-Ho Lee to the 40-man roster, so it looks like we have the right handed batting part of our first base "platoon" with Romero being a good AAA option if we need another utility player at some point during the season.

At this point take what ever is offered in a trade for him and move on, this has only been a long reminder this debacle of a trade...

Did any trade that Jack pulled off actually work out ? Man he had some tough breaks... I think the guy really cared and wanted to build something, but DAM it was a swing and a missed with a lot of his decisions...
