Did any trade that Jack pulled off actually work out ? Man he had some tough breaks... I think the guy really cared and wanted to build something, but DAM it was a swing and a missed with a lot of his decisions...
the Seth Smith trade wasnt a total bust.

Would have been the Guti deal if not for his bad luck.

That deal was probably his best, and IMO a win.

We sent out JJ Putz, Jeremy Reed, and Sean Green and got Guti, Jason Vargas, Endy Chavez, Mike Carp, etc.

Regardless of Guti's health later on, that's still a great deal for 3 guys who did nothing afterwards.

Still don't understand any logical reason that Jack could justify trading a rookie AS pitcher for a prospect who projected as a DH. How much money did Jack cost the Mariners by dealing 2 AS caliber pitchers who were under team friendly deals in Fister and Pineda

Fuck Jack Z always, but I don't put the Fister deal in the same category as the Pineda one.

I kind of do. Fister was on his game and cheap for years to come. I just never understood the need to trade him. It wasn't like we were 8 deep in the rotation and he was a luxury.

Oh no, I meant I didn't think the Pineda trade was as bad as the Fister one.

The Fister trade pissed me off about as much as anything the idiot ever did. My favorite was some Detroit fan coming on here and telling me that I didn't know anything about baseball because Casper Wells was a potential all star for years to come. Cuckoo.
