I wondered what happened to that lawsuit.

Awesome! Now I don't have to subject myself to that Gawd-Awful Padres announcing team when they play the Giants.

Yeah, people should be able to watch their local teams in local areas no matter how they watch the game.

Listening to either teams broadcast is awesome. I often want to hear the opponents broadcasters perspective on the game. Except when we're playing the Cards. Worst in the business.

This settlement does not effect that ability either way, though. Unless I missed something.

I live in San Diego, but I am a Giants fan. As it was yesterday, whenever the Giants played the Padres, I would not be able to WATCH the game via the MLB app. Period. I was not able to watch the Giants feed. I was not able to watch the Padres feed. The only way I could watch the game was on FSSD. I could, however, still listen to the Giants radio feed. I THINK I was able to listen to the Padres feed as well, but I am not sure (never tried).

NOW...

I will be able to watch the Giants feed, regardless where I am located (contiguous 48, I assume) and regardless who they are playing.

This does not add or remove any ability for me to listen to any teams radio broadcast.

Not really a big win. The blackout rule is still in effect.
