From 50-112 last year to 65-86 this year. They've at least had a few good performances this year that give some hope for the future. Rooker has been one of the best hitters in the league this year (172 OPS+), Lawrence Butler looks like a star (138 OPS+ with Statcast metrics more or less matching his actual production), JJ Bleday's got a 124 OPS+ though they might want to get him out of center field (great arm, but no range), Langoliers looks like a good MLB catcher even with his lousy OBP skills, and Mason Miller has become one of the more exciting relievers in baseball. I don't love their rotation but I do think they've been screwed over by bad defensive play. They're 28-25 since the ASB.

They do this all the time, bring up prospects who play well, they make maybe a 1-2 year playoff appearance that goes nowhere, then trade away everyone before they have to pay them and start over. In a few years Rooker and Butler will be on the Mets or Dodgers or Braves or Yankees or whatever

Still following the Billy Beane model AKA competitive mediocrity.
