Funny thing about Clemente Milk is you are all into WAR and Clemente has the 6th highest WAR for right fielders all time ahead of some guys I bet you don't think are overrated. I'm not sure how he's overrated when nobody ranks him among the all time greats, hes not in the convo with Ruth, Mays, Mantle, Teddy, Gehrig, Musial. He might be in the conversation of the all time 2nd tier players but honestly he's probably 3rd tier from all the people I have ever talked to and from the things I have read. 3rd tier is right where he belongs. He is not overrated.

Never said I am into WAR. In fact I have always said I hate WAR. I just have no clue how to evaluate defense, so I look at dWAR as the first metric. Whenever I said we should draft by war it was because I wanted to see how we portray players compared to how WAR does.

He's overrated because he's in the hall? That is absolutely stupid. He was elected to the hall by special selection, do you honestly believe they wouldn't have done that had he only had 2,999 hits when he died? That's moronic.

Played on some pretty bad Pirates teams until they got good at the end of his career. The Pirates made the playoffs one time in his first 14 seasons.

He could have retired after the 1971 season with 2,882 hits and he'd still be in.

People like Bill Mazeroski are in the hall and you're saying Clemente doesn't belong.
