Adrian Beltre will probably end up on this list too.
Adrian Beltre is a slam-dunk HOFer. He will get in on his first ballot.Adrian Beltre will probably end up on this list too.
Nah. He's got the milestones, reputation as one of the best defensive 3rd basemen of all-time (deservedly), and the advanced stats to back him up (4th all-time among 3B in WAR). As @chappee11 said I'd be shocked if he doesn't make it first try.Adrian Beltre will probably end up on this list too.
don,t understand why dale murphy has not been nominated to the hof.he just hit 398 hrs but was a great player in atlanta.
You forgot Jimmy. Also Utley is still hoping for the Hall of Fame. But Hall of Very Good is his "safety hall"Phillies edition: these are all guys who have had great careers but for whatever reason won’t make the Hall
Ryan Howard - called up late as youngster so that depressed his numbers. He also was rather bad late in his career and numbers plummeted.
Chase Utley - that 3/4 year period he was putting up analytics saying he was the best 2B to have played in the modern era. He also was called up late like Howard was.
Cole Hamels - his numbers are just shy of Hall of worthy. His numbers compare favorably to Jack Morris who is in the Hall but Morris is often criticized for being the bottom of the heap numbers wise among those in the Hall.
Curt Schilling - for me he’s a Hall of Famer but his politics and the fact that he was an asshole to sports writers will keep him out.
Also Julio Franco, although his best years might have been in the 80'sQuite a few Indians of the 90's
Albert Belle
Omar Vizquel
Kenny Lofton
-Vizquel- and especially Lofton have pretty compelling cases.
Travis Fryman was pretty good for a while there- but def. not hall of fame consideration
I didn’t include Jimmy Rollins because I think he’s the only guy from the 2007-2011 Phillies era that will go to the real Hall of Fame. Utley has a chance but I think his chance is years from now from the players committee. You forgot Jimmy. Also Utley is still hoping for the Hall of Fame. But Hall of Very Good is his "safety hall"
See I think Rollin's chance is years from now, but I'm not going to pretend I can think like a hall of fame voter.I didn’t include Jimmy Rollins because I think he’s the only guy from the 2007-2011 Phillies era that will go to the real Hall of Fame. Truth be told, I’m taking my lead here from Jason Stark and articles he’s written handicapping the 2008 Phillies and their Hall of Fame chances.See I think Rollin's chance is years from now, but I'm not going to pretend I can think like a hall of fame voter.
I mentioned Vizquel above....I know why he's not in but he's a guy that just feels like he belongsQuite a few Indians of the 90's

I’m sure something like this has been done before, but a few guys that come to mind…
Corey Koskie - Concussions derailed his career by his early 30’s, but a steady major league player both with the bat and in the field. Built the foundation for a solid 2000’s decade for the Twins even during a period in the late 90’s when they were bad.
Brian Giles - San Diego obviously had a much more famous right fielder in their existence (R.I.P.), but Giles led the Padres to just their 4th postseason appearance in 2005 by leading the NL in walks in addition to a .300 average and 38 doubles.
Carlos Lee - Yes, the White Sox won the year after they traded him and his lone postseason appearance was with them in 2000, but Lee was a solid run producer at five stops. Hit 358 career homers and stole 125 career bases.
Lofton's WAR is so high for a guy not in- now that is a product of playing forever to a certain extent..I mentioned Vizquel above....I know why he's not in but he's a guy that just feels like he belongs
There was a time when Albert Belle was the most feared player in all of baseball. He was terrifying. He just wasn’t able to sustain it long enough.Quite a few Indians of the 90's
