I was just phucking around and no we can't trade cuz we already started but that's something we should have talked about before...

I was just messin'. But we should think about a couple day trade period, or mid draft trades next time we do one of these.

I agree that would be a great idea, I don't believe there would be many trades but it's cool to just even have discussions about it.

Some of these first rounders could bring in 2 or 3 different HOFers. Could make for some fun back and forth, in some future draft.

Gotta wonder how Paige would have done had he made the majors a lot earlier than he did. Career 3.29 ERA and 124 ERA+ in 476 innings (granted most of it was in relief), but he didn't make it to the majors until he was 41. Pretty remarkable.

I've heard stories that he actually didn't know how old he has. The age of 41 might have been a couple years young, for his "rookie" season. Was banking on his legend more than his MLB stats when I drafted him.

I will judge all ***** League and Japanese players as if they played today, when they would all be eligible for the MLB. The fact that Paige had a 3.29 in his 40's pretty much tells the tale

That's what I figured. The stats weren't meant to be a slam by any means. Not many guys can say they were a useful player in their 40s, especially not to the extent Paige was. It's hard not to get the impression he would have been pretty damn good.

Oh no, I didn't take it that way. Those that you listed have to be rather rare for a pitcher in his 40's. Josh Gibson was another guy who's legend I would have liked to draft.

There's some neat stuff out there about Josh Gibson. Stadiums that he hit the ball completely out of. Saw a quote that a lot of people who saw them both play called Gibson the Black Babe Ruth. A lot of others said Ruth was the White Josh Gibson...
