Smitty will take this one. Very balanced lineup - crazy rotation - very good bench and pen....

I'm sure Ritz's batting order will start some converations... Very nice team, but might not win a game in this matchup..

This is a brutal first round matchup, I had these two guys ranked really high. Both lineups are outstanding, I pick games based on a five game series, one start per pitcher. Smitty has too much pitching.

All star hitting will outlast all star pitching. Ichiro 9th is what jumps out to everyone. Well Robinson has as over .400 OBP and Brock is insane with OBP plus his speed. He had over 110 steals in a season.

I had both these teams ranked top 3. It's a shame they have to play each other in the first round as both of these teams should finish in the top 3.

I love both lineups, main reason why I listed them so high, I actually like Ritz's bench a little better and both teams have very good bullpens. It's the starting pitching of Smitty that gives him the edge in this one IMO. Johnson and Seaver are as good a 1-2 as anyone has it's just too much even though I love Spahn and Ford.

As great as Satch was I think it was a mistake to take him as he really didn't do much in the Majors and too be honest he was used more in relief than he was a starter.

I was thinking that when he grabbed him... It was wise to slide him to the 5th spot in the rotation...

I think another error here is batting Robinson leadoff, with Lou Brock (one of the greatest leadoff hitter in the game) in the lineup...

I love the 3-4-5 of both these teams....

I can see batting Robinson 1st, he had a career OBP over .400 Brocks OBP was .340 Robinson was pretty quick himself. Also batting a lefty in the 2 hole is always good if you can.

Went back and fourth with Edgar and Sweet Lou in the two hole. Lou was great there. But I remember Piniella moving Martinez up, back in the 90's and he tore it up. Put my best OBP guy right in front of Barry. And it evened out the lefty/righty balance in the lineup.

I had Ritz and I ranked 3-4. And his lineup and bench might be my favorite. But I think the pitching advantage wins this for my team.
