So when evaluating pitchers, what are the most important things? I know it is a little bit of everything but what about a guy that had a shorter career but a lower ERA and a couple of Cy young's vs a guy close to 300 wins a little higher ERA close to 3,000 strikeouts in a long career but no Cy young's?

Just wanted y'all's take on that.
I compare their prime years, then longevity. Example would be Koufax vs a guy like Blyleven. Koufax had a shorter career, but his prime blows him away. Now compare Koufax to Walter Johnson. Johnson was equally dominant at his best, plus he did it longer. Therefore, Johnson....Koufax....Blyleven.....IMO

Always the best prime years. Stats that combine ballpark and league factors are huge for me.

If that's the way we should be viewing pitchers then I have these 3 players ranked near the bottom
Bob Feller
Johan Santana
Justin Verlander

Only if you're comparing them to Walter Johnson....when they were good....oh baby lol

Good thing I have him. He has greater value than all 3 of Ritz's SP's COMBINED :laugh3:

I'll just pitch that SOB every game
