Normally, the bench, as well as defense are devalued. I thought we could take our 5 bench players, and use them as on defense as defensive starters. Namedropping, but Brooks Robinson and Keith Hernandez are hardly ever picked, and they were great players. So say your batting lineup has Thome at 1B. If you have Hernandez on the bench, you can show him as a defensive starter. That would add value to the bench and defensive play

I like that idea

$250 seems high to me. That's $10.42m per player if we draft 24 players. 9 batters, 5 bench, 5 SP and 5 RP.

But remember HOF players are 25 before pre-allstar and +5 HOF players in all-star era. It is much more than the NBA, but it will add up

Yes but we will have 5 bench and 5 RP and most won't have made that many all star appearances or HOF so that's a big jump for the 14 remaining players on roster.

You can always find cheap guys but each relief in the HOF adds 5. Those 5's will add.

Just think in a normal draft if you have say 8 HOF'rs on your team. That is $40 right there not even counting the players salaries and you still have to fill 17 other spots. The big thing is going to be the $25 players too.

I agree that 250 is slightly too high...

I would say 201 is perfect... I would have said 200, but i like adding one for good luck...

I might be reconsidering the $250 cap being lowered that I'm noticing players have a lot more all star appearances then in NBA. My fav Oriole player had 19 all star appearances plus in HOF so he would be $24? Can't believe Bonds or Ruth would be $1 cheaper if I am reading rules correctly.

So what increase Bonds, Ruth, Clemens and A-Rod to $30?

If we increase them to 30 or higher I say we keep it at 250

Actually I think we should lower the Cap. I was thiking most of the players we take are gonna cost about $15 unless we really go after pre 1933 guys so we could potentially have a lineup that costs $130 that leaves at least $100 for rotation. Why even have a cap if we are gonna be able to have HOFers at every position, right?

You have me on the list, but I wanted to verify I am in.

I think a slightly lower cap might be fun, but I don't really care as long as it is the same for all.

I disagree about lowering the cap. Maybe I need to look up more players but once I saw Cal Ripken at 19 all stars that made me think more MLB players play in more all stars then NBA players because they play longer? However I will do what ever nos says on the cap because he is the math major but I ask we add $1m extra to it or make it a weird number for milks liking.
