Rangers.

Joe Nathan and adrian beltre is a definite I believe. I also believe Cruz, Kinsler, pierzynski, and Darvish could easily be there.
Beltre? No chance he deserves it.

Cabrera, Donaldson, Longoria, and Machado have all been better.

Cruz, maybe
Kinsler, he's played in just 56 games and hasn't even been that good. Pedroia, Kipnis, and Cano are more deserving, not to mention Infante and Kendrick
Pierzynski, on what planet? He's been average at best

Darvish and Nathan are the only two that should make it for Texas, with Cruz as a possibility

Reds-Joey Votto,Brandon Phillips Will start
Bench-Jay Bruce,CHOO,
Pitchers-Latos,Chapman
6 All-stars pretty good, and in my opinion Latos should be starting, if it wasn't for the bullpen blowing some games he could easily have 12 wins.
Which games did the bullpen blow for him?

There have only been 2 games all season where he pitched well, left with a lead, and his bullpen blew it for him.

It isn't out of the question for him to be on the team although it is a quite the homerish stretch, but to think he should be starting is ridiculous. Kershaw blows him out of the water along with quite a few others including Wainwright, Lee, Zimmerman, Locke, and Harvey.

Wainwright or Kershaw in the NL and Hernandez, Scherzer, or Darvish in the NL would be my pick. If I had to make the choice, Kershaw v Hernandez.

For the Pirates, McCutchen and Grilli will make it. Melancon deserves it if any middle relievers are taken, but I understand the argument against taking middle relievers. If you think this season is the biggest factor in choosing an All-Star, Locke should make the team, but if you believe pedigree and career success are also important, he shouldn't. Alvarez and Martin have outside shots, and it wouldn't be a travesty either way if they make it or not.

Yeah when I was doing a full roster last week I had McCutchen, Martin, Locke, and Grilli. It's obviously up to the managers, players, and fans who vote for the starters if they think pedigree and career success should be a factor and I understand the argument for it, I just prefer to make the team "Who is having the best season at this point". Plus Locke is a New Hampshire native who I had the privilege of facing in high school, so it would be pretty cool to say that I faced an All-Star. As Bob Uecker would say, I had several foul tips.

If Puig is a "All-Star"; then Jose Iglesias, of the Red Sox, is he real deal, All Star...His average hasn't dipped below .395..currently .411; I honestly don't think he's made more then 1 error all year

I think Ellsbury is a possibility as well. Not seeing much offensive production out of AL outfielders this year and while Ellsbury is lacking in power, his .360+ OBP and ridiculous stolen bases numbers should put him over the top. If you add up all those extra bases he is taking with his legs alone, his slugging percentage would jump up nearly 100 points.

Chics dig the long ball.

Yeah, no chance. :L
So BA, HR, and RBI are the only stats that matter?

Adrian Beltre: .304/.343/.506/.849, .365 wOBA, 125 wRC+, 124 OPS+, 16 HR, 44 RBI, 48 runs
Josh Donaldson: .314/.382/.526/.908, .390 wOBA, 151 wRC+, 152 OPS+, 14 HR, 55 RBI, 46 runs

Adrian Beltre: .304/.343/.506/.849, .365 wOBA, 125 wRC+, 124 OPS+, 16 HR, 44 RBI, 48 runs
Evan Longoria: .294/.365/.537/.902, .383 wOBA, 148 wRC+, 150 OPS+, 17 HR, 48 RBI, 52 runs

So Beltre has 2 more HRs, and 2 more runs scored than Donaldson, and 10 points in BA over Longoria. That's it. So yes, no chance he deserves it.

And if you think the AL should hold 4 third basemen, then Machado should have that 4th spot, not Beltre. They have basically been equal offensively, only big difference is HRs favoring Beltre, but Machado has been the best defensive 3rd basemen in the game.

I doubt Puig will make the team, and I doubt Iggy will make the team.

Neither Cuban will keep up their torrid hitting, but they are fun to watch.... The 22 & 23 yr olds have shoved themselves into the Roockie of the Year awards running...

That's a really low OBP for Beltre considering his average. He's not drawing nearly as many walks as his power should allow.

Donaldson and Longoria have clearly better offensive stats, I agree, and are therefore more deserving this year. Longoria also has the track record to back it up.

Gomez should start in the outfield. He's earned it. He won't, but he deserves to.

At short, you can't go wrong with any of Segura, Desmond, or Cabrera.

Well with the rosters official and the final vote in I think Freddie Freeman is one of the biggest omissions. Yeah he is on the final vote in but we all know Puig will win it.

The problem for Freeman is the other players at 1B are better.

there are a lot of snubs people are just so used to voting for the same player year after year (Torii Hunter) because as a mariner fan I think Raul Ibanez should have made it over him and Kyle Seager over Ben Zobrist. they should have fans only vote for starters and reserves by the managers

Who outside of LA will vote for Puig? Just becasue some sports writers think he should get in, the general public will agree?

Freeman is currently leading the NL votes over Puig...

In the AL, Delabar (1.58 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, 57K, 40 IP) is leading over Uehara (1.93 ERA, 0.83 WHIP, 53K, 37 IP)....

A bit of sarcasm on my part. I would rather have Freeman in and he deserves it. But like the ballot stuffing that occurs with online votes there is the hype machine of Puig that we see every night on the national highlights. You see less of Freeman.

The fans only vote for the starters but the players vote for the reserves so there is more of a chance for favorites among players. I think thats why they did away with the coaches picking because they would take their players over players that deserved it.
