thats a bummer, i met gomez and jose mesa at a card signing at the bel air mall when i was a kid. i have no idea how he was as a manager but i always thought it was funny seeing him when i went to games. the manager was also the 3b coach at aberdeen too, just another one of the charms. id definitely say its the best ironbirds team since inception since i dont think theyve had a winning season, but again this is anecdotal because i leave the day to day business of following the extreme minor league teams to the experts/tedman.
