Thanks.

And I agree, I think our draft should have went differently, but I can see the reasoning behind it. Some people like FRYE can't see the reasoning behind trying to build an elite offense in an offensive-driven league and being in a division where teams can put up 4 TDs a game. All FRYE sees is Romo. But he tries to talk DL as if he cares about it when it reality it's all just about not wanting the Cowboys to help Romo.

Earl, when you say our draft should have went differently, would you have gone OL again in the 2nd? I agree with your premise of building a dominant unit on one side of the ball, but to me, extra OL would have pushed that more than WR's and TE's

I would have went DLine or safety in Round 2. This TE better be the next Jimmy Graham or Gronk or I'm gonna be pissed off.

Man dude ran a 4.86 40, so maybe he can be a poor mans Witten. I don't think he's in the same stratosphere of athletic ability as Graham or even the Gronk. If he can be as good as Celek that would be a huge plus. I know i butchered that one.

Who has more bust potential him or Wilcox? I think Wilcox is gonna get his lunch ate in the NFL.

I think you are dead on there. Drafting Fredrick where they did is fine, and Williams is fine. But instead of Escobar and Wilcox, they should have gone Swearinger and Barrett Jones IMO. If we had come away with Fredrick, Swearinger, Williams and B Jones I would have marked out

What about the rest of the defense? What about the FACT that way too often all a team had to do was drop a pass right over the LB's and neither the LB's nor S's could do a damn thing to stop it. I seldom blame one man for a defense giving up 30+ points a game, because if it was ONLY ONE MAN the defense wouldn't yield 30 points. But I tell you what you keep thinking it's Ware and I'll keep blaming the S's and defensive game plan and execution.
I don't blame you being pissed off at me manster. I hate to admit some of this crap myself. I'm just sick and tired of this sick dog and pony show by Jerry Jones the past 16 years. I'm afraid its going to be another 16 years the way its going and the general thinking and approach everyone has taken. WE never had to go this long before without at least and NFC Championship or Super Bowl appearance. This is totally unacceptable to me anymore. Are any of us older Cowboy fans ever going to see another Super Bowl? I am beginning to wonder. Christ, we can't even win the damn division and make the playoffs. For nearly 20 years, winning the division and going to the playoffs were a given. It was just a matter of how far we would go after that.
I'm sorry guys. I still like most of you and hopefully someday we can all get together. I just disagree with you on Ware. I think we could do better. He is way too high a price for what the bottom line is for all of us. Not stats, but wins. The bottom line is wins. And I'm sorry, as athletic as Ware is, and believe me, the kids is incredibly talented, I just don't see the inner qualities in him like Lilly, White, Howley, Jones, Jordan, Henderson. Ware just isn't mentally or physically tough enough for my liking considering the big bucks we gave him.

Jinx- did Ware bang your wife or something? IMO he's the best player on the defense and you rag on him like he should be cut. 31 other teams would gladly take him of the boys hands.

Not pissed at you one bit. I just think you are WAY off base on Ware. In the past I would have called you an idiot for you stance on Ware but I don't want to upset other poster's anymore. Although I have a feeling if I did call you an idiot on your Ware stance it wouldn't have bothered you too much that a faceless person behind a keyboard called you a name.

Yep, If Jerry cut Ware, Ware would have 31 phone calls before the ink was dry.

Now hold on here, lol. I didn't say cut him. And I'm not saying I will get my wish either. But If I was in a position to do so, I would definitely want something back, like a couple high drat picks while we can still get something for him. I can see a lot of teams giving up a player and a draft pick if they had the chance to get Ware. Throw in Ratliff in a package deal or in a separate transaction, we get two ageing players with big contract off the books and fill some needs, preferably the D-line.

Wilcox hasn't done anything wrong. My concern is that he only has one year experience as a Safety and he's out of a small school. I believe this is his 3rd position in 3 yrs. Thats just worrying the crap out of me.

I'm starting to believe you don't watch any of the games. As I recall, the offense completely stunk while the defense played fairly well against the Falcons and Seahawks (for almost three quarters). And this is an offensive-driven league now. Look at how many shootouts the Ravens were in and they won the SB. You don't exactly need great defense to be successful in this league nowadays. The Pats' defense has been suspect for years yet they steady get first round byes every season because they've had the top offense for what seems like a decade. If the Cowboys just average 27 points a game last year, they would probably would have won the NFC East just as the Redskins did. The Redskins and Giants both averaged about 27 points per game (not sure on the exact numbers). Maybe that's why both of those teams finished over .500 because it sure as hell wasn't because of their defense.

It's easy to blame the defense for how bad it was at times last year, but the offense could have did a lot more than it did. Say what you want about the defense (whether it's the points they gave up or the yards) but they made some key stops when we needed it last year and the offense gave it away.
Like they did when the division was on the line the past couple years. O.k. Like they did against Minnesota and the giants in the playoffs. We haven't been in too many big games the last 16 years. And when we do, except against one playoff win vs. the eagles, the defense could not get a stop when it really mattered with everything on the line.
