Won't get many sack opportunities when you give up over 200 yards rushing. RGIII schooled Ware's ass both games last year. Many teams love it when Ware rushes. They usually and more often than not, draw, trap and screen to his vacant spot for huge gains, usually in huge games.

It's the D coordinators job to anticipate and counteract that, Ryan failed conclusively while he was here. Again though, this topic is about Miles. Let's keep it on track. Start a thread about Ware if you wish, let's not keep straying from the original topic at hand.

I haven't looked are there any worthwhile free agent receivers next year? I'm sure guys will get bought out etc. We don't need a world class receiver, just somebody that can be relied on.

agreed 100% on the 1st part...

on the 2nd.... I dn't see why we should even think receiver. Harris came on last year. We just drafted an awesome guy at the position and we have Dez and Austin.

Even if Austin is traded or cut ... we have HEAVY depth at the position ( barring a major injury bug)

I don't think it's at the top of the priority list by any means. I fully expect Williams to step up and become a threat. We'll see about Harris, I hope he can fill the void.

I think O-line and D-line are our concerns. Can't see us going in any other direction for the next 2 years.

RG3 wont be schooling anyone this year except from the pocket if his coaches have a clue. Ware and Spencer will be dominant

Miles Austin was... WAS...a very good receiver on his way to being a great Wide Receiver before he developed "chronic" hamstring-itus! As it stands now...I believe the Cowboys are far better served by letting him walk or try Free Agency @ the EOY as I don't believe the market for him is expansive. On a positive note I'm intrigued by the kid from Baylor (Terrance Williams)... I just hope he can get separation in the NFL like he did in college. If he's even decent...Dez Bryant will have a monster year...assuming of Dez keeps his head on straight.

Miles who?

still have to keep him for one more year... would kill our cap to let him walk this year... next offseason is a different story

O.k. I believe if Miles stays healthy he will lead the team in receiving and touchdowns this year. Dez and Witten will draw most of the double teams.

I still value Austin's game more than the average Cowboy fan. I'm good with seeing how this turns out. I'm no way thinking the Baylr rookie is the replacement, but I do like Harris and his desire to be a good NFL receiver

It doesn't take much to fool an over paid, over rated dumbass like Ware.

You seem to think every QB can run like RGIII. Here a news flash for you. Most QB's cannot run like RGIII, and there's no guarantees RGIII will run the same way.

I'm just glad everyone hasn't figured out RG3 is even better when he isn't running

Its not like the Foreskins were the only team to make our defense look like a high school team twice last year. Where was Ware and the Defense against the Saints, Seahawks, Ravens and Atlanta. Except for the Seahawks, none of those qb's run like RGIII.

What about the rest of the defense? What about the FACT that way too often all a team had to do was drop a pass right over the LB's and neither the LB's nor S's could do a damn thing to stop it. I seldom blame one man for a defense giving up 30+ points a game, because if it was ONLY ONE MAN the defense wouldn't yield 30 points. But I tell you what you keep thinking it's Ware and I'll keep blaming the S's and defensive game plan and execution.

Well maybe next time we'll have Lee and Carter both waiting for RG3 if he gets by Ware instead of guys off the streets.

I'm starting to believe you don't watch any of the games. As I recall, the offense completely stunk while the defense played fairly well against the Falcons and Seahawks (for almost three quarters). And this is an offensive-driven league now. Look at how many shootouts the Ravens were in and they won the SB. You don't exactly need great defense to be successful in this league nowadays. The Pats' defense has been suspect for years yet they steady get first round byes every season because they've had the top offense for what seems like a decade. If the Cowboys just average 27 points a game last year, they would probably would have won the NFC East just as the Redskins did. The Redskins and Giants both averaged about 27 points per game (not sure on the exact numbers). Maybe that's why both of those teams finished over .500 because it sure as hell wasn't because of their defense.

It's easy to blame the defense for how bad it was at times last year, but the offense could have did a lot more than it did. Say what you want about the defense (whether it's the points they gave up or the yards) but they made some key stops when we needed it last year and the offense gave it away.

How anybody can put most of the blame on this defense is beyond me. The Giants and Bears games were utter jokes of offensive display. The offense just flat-out gave those games away when the defense didn't really play horrible. I think that Giants' game in Arlington was arguably the best defensive performance of the season yet they lost because the offense didn't do anything until they were down three TDs. That game should have never came down to Dez's fingertips because the defense played so well. I mean how can we even blame it on Dez fingertips when they didn't score a single point in the 4th quarter? The Giants had 11 first downs all game and Eli played mediocre yet we still lose. That Ravens' game was also a joke. You wouldn't think it was possible for a team to rush for 227 yards and completely dominate a team in yardage yet can't score 30 points. Only the Cowboys can do that. Of course I do realize that the other teams are professional too, but the Cowboys can be better than that offensively. It's sad when your best offensive performance comes against a 4-12 Philadelphia Eagles. This team struggled to score 20 points against the Browns, couldn't score more than 16 against the Bucs (the worst pass defense in the league), and the Cowboys must have had the worst first half offense in the league last year. And people are livid about the Cowboys drafting a guard, a pass-catching TE, and a potential big play WR with its first three picks when this team can't score points?

I think your right Earl for the most part, but I do think our draft should have went a little different. I think if this team could have done more to help Romo with improving this OL in both the 1st and 2nd round and doing more to improve the defense. Improving the OL helps Romo by better protection and more push in the run game. I don't agree with Blue jersey on his Ware observation, but he has one thing right We have to get better against the run and screens. I didn't like the Escobar pick and I sure hope he pans out. I think that pick should have went to the defense, which still potentially helps Romo in the way of 3 and outs and more turnovers. Glad to see you joined us Earl we're still missing a few of the regs hopefully the come over also.

Thanks.

And I agree, I think our draft should have went differently, but I can see the reasoning behind it. Some people like FRYE can't see the reasoning behind trying to build an elite offense in an offensive-driven league and being in a division where teams can put up 4 TDs a game. All FRYE sees is Romo. But he tries to talk DL as if he cares about it when it reality it's all just about not wanting the Cowboys to help Romo.
