Logical rumor to start up I suppose. Kings could use some cap relief in the wake of the Voynov situation. Not going to get much more than draft picks for him and may even have to take on some of his salary. His cap hit although high for where he's being used on the Kings may not be so bad on a team like Buffalo. He'd most likely be the number one center there.
I think he is the only King with a NTC. That rumor I has been spinning for a while. The thing is what would the Kings do with the cap-space? It is not like there is a 4 million dollar player waiting in the wings. If it is to create space at the deadline, who or what do they get then?
I would be pissed if they trade him. When you get to the top you have to be careful who you spend your money on if you want to stay on top. Not buying out Richards and signing Muffin are mistakes IMO. You cant keep everyone and problems arise during the season that you need to be able to handle. LA is handcuffed and it can only get worse as more players will undoubtedly get hurt from trying to pick up the slack from the others that are out....which will create more of the same problem. At this point you reap what you sow and they hung their hat on Richards and should run with it, otherwise they are telling the players we believe in you but are going to dump you if you play only slightly better then last year. Dave, its not about having a 4m guy just waiting to join LA its about being flexible when that opportunity is there.
