There must be something about him that they like for him to go so high. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, although outside of Okung they haven't had much success drafting on the O-line in the Carroll regime.

Absolutely this.

If his opinion was worth any more than yours or mine, he'd be working for a football team instead of saying dumb stuff on TV. My favorite from Round I?

"this guy flashes explosion every game"

Mayock is an obnoxious fool.

NFL.com has him as a 6-7 round prospect. Not sure I get it.

It was a reach as most draft analysts had him graded as a 5th to 7th round pick, but the Seahawks must have seen something they liked in him.

This is what you get with the Seahawks front office. Some head scratching picks, some turn out to be absolute steals (Sherman, Chancellor, etc.) and others turn out to be absolute duds (Kris Durham, James Carpenter, etc.). Their draft strategy has worked so far so I'm not going to complain.

The Seahawks have done this countless times since Carroll became head coach. Not the first time the Seahawks have drastically reached for a player they like. This is why I don't bother trying to predict the Seahawks draft selections.

We won the superbowl so our coaches know what they're doing.

He'll most likely move over and be groomed for RG/RT work. Exactly what we needed.

Exactly, well said. You know what this shakey "Draft Strategy" got the Seahawks, A Lombardi. Exactly. Keep them guessing JS.:suds:

Sums it up nicely. At the end of the day we all want results on the field....mission accomplished last year, hopefully things keep rolling our way and the Seahawks go back to back.

Pete and Schneider's draft tend to never look or grade well "on paper"

We will see how they are on the field these next couple of years before we can truly cast an opinion

Given how these guys have been able to evaluate 5th-7th-round talent in the past, I think they get a free pass to draft projected 5th-rounders whenever they want. I for one am stoked! Welcome to the team, Justin Britt!

Not sure why people care about how the "experts" grade players. Haven't we learned by now that it doesnt matter. If this was the guy that we felt best fit the scheme and has the proper attitude then what's the issue. I am never gonna bash these guys for a draft pick, they have earned the right to at least see how it plays out. Unless the would have drafted a QB I would have been happy with whoever was picked.

Richardson makes up for the Britt pick.

Richardson will be a stud, mark my words. This kid is going to light up the NFL. He has all the RIGHT things to light up a team. Speed, spectacular catch ability (lots of one handed grabs in college), and vert jump. His only weakness is jamming + double coverage + injury potential. Two oft he three you can mismatch.

I hate that Richardson will likely get injured in the NFL at some point, but until he does you cannot (and I mean cannot) leave him unattended.

The one thing I love about picking so called 5 round talent before hand is when it dose fail, (Harper WR last year) they don't force it. They drop the player and move on, while others try and make the pick work for several years and in the end find themselves wasting valuable time and a roster spot.

Oh Well.
The WR pick, IDK, did we pick the best guy, or did we pick the best guy for us, or did we miss?
OT, Really, it is what I expected, but there were SO many ranked higher, but us fans are NOT in the film studies, so we can just say, Oh Well.
LOMBARDI.......say it with me and give 30+ likes.
We got the Lombardi, with all these shitty picks by such said pundits.

That is why we have our regular jobs. 30+ likes to confirm.

Go Hawks, SB Champs. (sounds so good)
