So JJM you can drink outside in the designated area otherwise known as the railyard. There's an opening to the back of the craft beer bar that serves the outdoor patrons. Shit is not cheap but hey, you get to get to get shitfaced with an open container outside in downtown Lincoln Nebraska. The only other place I have experienced that is Las Vegas.

Well vegas was different. You just walk down the street with a giant fucking triple jack and coke and no one bats an eye. A bit different than being confined to one space like a concentration camp for drunks.

In Vegas I walked into Walgreens and bought a 40oz beer, opened it in Walgreens and started drinking it. Then carried it into the M&M's store and continued drinking it. Then went back to the MGM and finished it off.

That place is the best place on Earth.

That's how Beale St is in Memphis, Printer's Alley Nashville, French Quarter Orleans, Little 5 Corners Atlanta, Riverfront Chattanooga during certain festivals.

I was really just giving you shit. But there's lots of places that you can by a drink in one establishment take it out on the street and when you want another just go in to another and buy.

Printer's Alley did it in Nashville when it was illegal to buy by the drink. Law just looked the other way.

I'm just used to Nebraska where everything is based on a completely overly conservative view.

I think if you're walking........anywhere.........you should be able to have a beer in your hand.

I don't see carrying a beer on the sidewalk as being anymore dangerous than carrying a beer around in a bar. There is no logic behind it.

The only real thought behind not allowing people to walk in public with beer is that it makes us look trashy and out of order.

Which I understand. But there is not danger at all with it. In fact, it might encourage people to walk to the bars and back home rather than drive.

LOL, I grew up on 27th & J. Bar there on the corner was originally called the bloody bucket, then the Happy Corner. Owned by a few people as the Happy Corner. Last I hear it was a clubhouse for a motorcycle gang.
Anyway I can remember guys walking home with a beer in there hand late at night. Usually stumbling down the street, sometimes singing never causing any trouble though.
Hell the South O taverns it was nothing for kids to be in until it started to get late.
It was a part of life. Nothing to be ashamed of, nothing to hide. It was a part of the neighborhood.
