Have fun with all those 3 stars.
In fairness, SEC schools don't have to set up shop anywhere because they are already in the hotbed of recruitsI love the Big 10. Been a lot of talk over the years about how they do things by the book. This is the 2nd University to now circumvent the the rules and offer satellite camps, something the SEC has outlawed. So pardon me, if I find the next complaint about SEC recruiting practices ironic from Big 10 fans. The best part is it is not even Urban Meyer doing this stuff (PSU and Michigan). You know the guy that other Big 10 coaches condemned for his recruiting ethics.

Completely agree with the first part. Not sure about the second. In fairness, SEC schools don't have to set up shop anywhere because they are already in the hotbed of recruits
But you won't ever find me complaining about recruiting practices of the SEC or any other conference it's a cutthroat business

Obviously it's not against the rules. It's not like they are oversigning to anything.
I believe they are going to Texas. If I remember what I read yesterday, they plan to run camps in California and/or Texas as well.
As long as you go in under the farce that you are just a guest you can do this. Harbs is doing some interesting thing, giving jobs to a recruits mom, contacting a girlfriend of a recruit and then being a "guest" at a camp. Very interesting, I am glad he is a shining example of right we all thought he was.
Can't defend giving the recruit's mom a job. He's known her for at least 4-5 years now though (recruited the kid to Stanford), maybe she was the best candidate for the job. I don't know. This camp thing is not against the rules. If they want to change the rule then they need to do it. And recruiters use family, friends, coaches, teammates, pastors, bosses and yes girlfriends to try to land recruits. this is nothing new or different. Not even sure why this was reported. We've all seen Johnny Be Good right? They weren't pulling that stuff out of their asses. Anyway, until your coach stops being Urban Meyer, you really shouldn't throw stones.
Might be able to snag some quality 3 stars that fit needs/style and have potential. You could also get lucky and find a decent player who wants to play at a different position. Nebraska snagged Ameer that way.
It's not like every single 4-5 star from the state of alabama is going to school at Alabama. There's absolutely no reason to think Michigan can't get a 4 or 5 star. And, the 16th best player in the class of 2015 from Alabama chose Michigan, there is no reason to think after these camps that there won't be any 4-5 stars that choose to go out of state for college.
They don't all go to Alabama. They also go to Auburn and the other big time schools in the south. But most of the time Alabama and Auburn keep the instate talent instate.
The kid you are talking about from Alabama choosing Michigan is a 3 star player and the only SEC school that even offered him a scholarship was Kentucky. Which is exactly the type of player I said they could get.
You would be wrong. SEC prohibits satellite camps. Here is an article on Franklin and the SEC on the topicI'm pretty sure SEC teams were already doing this stuff. I'm guessing plenty of other teams outside the SEC have been doing it. I'm guessing part of it is being able to do it, I doubt people are going to pay to see the New Mexico St staff.
I would setup a camp in Hawaii and recruit Somas it's about time we ended the PAC domination in Soma. You would be wrong. SEC prohibits satellite camps. Here is an article on Franklin and the SEC on the topic
NCAAF SEC coaches concerned about camps - ESPN
It's said Jim Harbaugh is a workaholic. Well, apparently he and his staff are doing six (so far) camps in early June:
1) Alabama
2) Dallas TX
3) Houston TX
4) California
5) Tampa FL
6) Pennsylvania

I wonder how Jim Delany and the other 13 B1G football coaches (especially James Franklin) feel about the Pennsylvania camp. Having camps in other B1G states might be crossing the line.
