Head-to-head, Bergy always beats Sid on faceoffs. It's one of the main reasons I don't like him on Sid's wing. Sid's going to be the center of his line, there's no doubt about that, but taking Bergeron out of the faceoff circle is a mistake to me. Some people might think faceoffs are little things, but I've seen a lot of games which hinged on them. It's a major component of puck possession, and Babcock coaches a puck possession game.

Besides that, I just think their games right now are too divergent to really mesh offensively.

Everyone thinks that faceoffs are super important because they tend to focus on a single one that their guy won/lost that ended up being big. But the reality is that even the absolute worst faceoff men in the NHL win 3 out of every 7 (and that's even assuming that the bean counters are defining a "win" properly anyway). The difference between Crosby and Bergeron specifically in a single game is a little more than one faceoff win. And that single faceoff win is still more likely to be a relatively insignificant one than it is to be the most important one in the game (which still might not make much difference anyway).

That is excellent advice. Reminds me of that one time the Jackets were playing the Caps and I got the advice to shut down Ovechkin. So simple it just might work.
