I actually thought his parting letter was surprisingly insightful. He seems to say he's earned a lot of money over his career, something you don't say if you're spending it like water. If he has $5MM saved of the $15MM he's earned he'll be fine bridging to his pension if he can get it to return 3% per year, which is extremely conservative. Basic tax-free municipal bonds would do the trick.

He does seem more sensible than some, so I would imagine he'll be okay in that regard.
