Has us taking Melvin Gordon.

I will need to buy a new TV if that is the name called. There is ZERO need for a RB in the first round on this team. He has Goldman out of FSU going the next pick, I'd much rather have him than a RB. If we lose Murray, no AP, and cut panty-theif...find a RB later in the draft.

I don't know how I'd feel about that should Murray not resign with Dallas. I remember being mad as hell when Dallas let Fassno walk and draft TE in round two with Bennett...BUT that was a back up position and not a mew-cow. Still not sure the next starting RB is on the roster and I don't think the Mark Ingrams of FA will be all that cheap

I would prefer a defensive guy in the first, but I wouldn't be upset with Melvin Gordon. If Dallas can land him at #27 I think we will be doing all right. Gordon is going to be a stud.

I think the best back will be Gurley.... if his knee is right

That's a big if though when you are trying to decide on which one RB to draft.

There's no doubt, they would have to be 100%. If Murray hadn't had the injuries, he'd have never slid.
I think signing Dez long-term, franchising or transition tagging Murray, and using their top picks on D is the way to go. Franchise Murray this year and next, and then he's what, 29-30 going into the next year when you part ways? It's cold, but that's business

We don't need a running back in 1st round. Imo all the good pass rushers will be gone and would rather see us take a defensive back or go with an Ot. That guy on our practice squad is better than randle

I don't have an issue with a RB, but we gotta address the Dline in the first round. The Dallas war room as earned my trust in the last couple of draft, taking BPA...so I think McShay is barking up a tree here.

I just don't want to see another year of Tony and our young/cheap OL go to waste because our defense doesn't have a playmaker up front that can make a stop when we need it.

Gordon is the best RB in this draft.

That's the thing....Are the coaches and scouts hell bent on DL in the first? I'm not sure I am since the position will more than likely be in a rotation of some sorts.

Maybe. Just hit me as a groaner when I first saw it. You remember, we used to all say that we needed a draft of nothing but OL. Then we get OL and the whole offense comes together. Same with DL. Secondary gets much better when QB's are hurried.

It will end up the same as every year. We can call for DL and only DL (or whatever position each of us wants), but when we are on the board we are going to draft BPA with a lean towards position need or trade out of the spot. We've done it every year lately and I don't see it stopping and I don't want it to stop. If you take good players eventually you will be happy from a talent and a cap perspective. Then you let FA fill the holes.

I hear you. Just think this team is locked in on BPA from their draft board and I wouldn't be shocked if it's not dline.

we might be careful here. This board is starting to resemble a football chat site again.

Only thing that worries me about Gordon is that just about every Wisky RB has been better in college than the Pro's. He looks like he could be the exception.
His combine numbers were great.

Totally agree on trusting the war room this year. McClay deserves a ton of respect, he looks like a star. The problem will be keeping him without giving him the title of GM. Those offers will be rolling in soon with another great offseason

Yep, like 4.52 in the 40, looks to be solid as a rock. Wouldn't be the absolute worst pick even if Murray 're-ups, though I suspect the Cowboys would have to sign a corner and pass rusher in FA before that would be considered

Dallas is good at making up new titles. They can make him "Executive VP of All Things FO", just keep him!
