call me a homer, but i think the local kid Eichel ends up the better scorer this year, and a few years in and beyond.

I'm going with Eichel for a couple of reasons - Easier travel in the East as compared to the West and I think it's a more wide open game in the East than the West (Big, heavy teams in the West and points are at a premium).

I'll go with McDavid because I think the Oilers will McDavid more goals overall. They had roughly 40 more goals as a team last McDavid and if the team around is McDaviding more goals, that means you're likely to rack up more McDavids in the end.

I said before the season started that I think not only will Eichel have more points than MCDavid, but would also have the better NHL career. I stand by my stance. I'm still laughing at Sabres fans for being disappointed claiming they got screwed again for picking 2nd instead of 1st.

whats more interesting to me is how far massachusetts has come in birthing NHL talent. roenick, tkachuk, barrasso, eichel, amonte, and down the line. MN is still #1 at 234 players. mass has taken over 2nd at 185 players. MI next with 151.

oddly, VT has produced 2. yes, vermont...2 (one of significance, john leclair). same number as alabama.

I think whatever our opinions are on these athletes at this moment in time, it's important that we all stick to some simple truths...

(1) Whichever one you favor now is who you must favor a decade from now, i.e.- no changsies!
