Week 9 Power Rankings

1) Jimmy Rustlers (6-2, Previously #4) @Cave_Johnson
- After starting 0-1, Rustlers has pulled off 6 of his last 7 to catapult himself into a 3 way tie for first place in the South End Zone division. With Harold losing Leveon for the year, Rustlers team gets the bump in the power rankings. Lamar Miller has had a resurgence since his slow start (19, 38, and 14 in his previous 3). Dion Lewis and Rishard Matthews continue to be quality contributors to the fantasy roster. Great free agent pickups by Rustlers. Playing in a division where 3 teams are 6-2 makes for some tough competition. On paper Rustlers seems to have the advantage at this point, but with fantasy football you never know from week to week.

2) Harold’s Team (6-2, Previously #1) @HaroldSeattle
- The reigning #1 since week 4 finally relinquishes his title. Losing Leveon hurts as Harold will now have to rely on G. Bernard and R. Hillman moving forward. Harold is loaded with WR talent which he can either rely on for their monster production the rest of the season or utilize them as trade bait to reel in a quality RB. Either way, Harold still remains a dangerous playoff contender.

3) Logicallylethal (5-3, Previously #2) @Logicallylethal
- Despite losing out on Eli’s 6 td performance, Logic still managed to get the victory winning his 2nd in a row to snag sole possession of first place in the Hawks Nest division. Despite the loss of Jamaal Charles for the season, Logic has found key free agent pickups to fill in. Darren McFadden has scored 16, 24, and 17 pts running behind the best O-line in football. Charcandrick West has scored back to back 20 pt games in place of Charles. Deangelo Williams may very well be Logic’s best free agent pickup. In Leveon’s absence in weeks 1 and 2, Deangelo rushed for 127 yds and then scored 3 tds the following week dropping a cool 31 in fantasy.

4) The Boz (6-2, Previously #9) @blstoker
- Boz is the hottest team in the league entering week 9 with a 5 game winning streak. His young stars have been electric and extremely productive in fantasy. Todd Gurley has scored 18, 15.9, 32, and 23 in his first 4 starts. Tavon has had two huge games dropping 29 in week 4 and 27 in week 8. Travis Benjamin has been a huge surprise with 601 yds and 4 tds on the season. Now with Alshon Jeffery back (28 pts and 27 pts since returning) and Gronk still dominating, Boz looks to continue his momentum as he puts his 5 game winning streak against divisional leader Logicallylethal.

5) Lester Hayes (4-4, Previously #3) @Nosferatu
- The same thing plagued Lester last year. Fast start (3-1) then late collapse (1-3 in previous 4). On paper this team is still a strong contender. His roster is loaded with RBs and lacking in receivers after Megatron and Fitzgerald. Maybe trading one of his RBs for a quality WR could benefit Lester moving forward.

6) Bullpenn (3-5, Previously #5) @DunceKaep
- Not a lot has gone right for the former #1. Arian Foster has been lost for the season and Joseph Randle lost his job to McFadden. Hyde has been a complete dud since his week 1 outburst. And Luck’s struggles continue to affect T.Y Hilton and Moncrief’s production. At 3-5, Bullpenn is currently 2 games out of playoff contention. His roster is talented enough to make a run, but it’s has to happen soon otherwise Logic may run away with the division.

7) Sonny’s Superb Team (4-4, Previously #6) @SonnyCID
- 4-1 seems so long ago. Since then Sonny has lost 3 in a row and dropped completely out of contention for the division. With 3 other teams at 6-2, Sonny is going to have to find his mojo again quick. Having Brady on the roster definitely helps. In fantasy terms he has been god like from week to week scoring over 40 pts 4 times already with his lowest output being 34.

8) Phi Samma (3-5, Previously #7) @Uhsplit
- Phi Samma leads the league in pts scored against with 1429 pts. His roster has some talent but just not enough fire power to compete week to week with the elite teams in the league.

9) Los Pollos Shermanos (2-6, Previously #10) @Itsmytime
- The good news is Shermanos is on a 2 game winning streak. The bad news is that he is still 2-6. Maybe Shermanos can win out and make a miraculous run at a playoff spot, but that seems highly unlikely with the roster Shermanos is trotting out there from week to week.

10) Uwdawgfan (1-7, Previously #8) @uwdawgfan
- After finishing 9th last year (6-8), uwdawgfan currently sits dead last at 1-7. Eddie Lacy has been an absolute bust. Peyton despite being undefeated in real life has been a fantasy bust as well. Odell Beckham has been the only bright spot on the roster.

I do miss Lethal's weekly Power Rankings updates, and for purely selfish reasons. It would have been fun to watch my team rise from the bottom to the top!!!!!!

Jimmy Rustlers has a 97 point lead - while The Boz has a lead of 137, so this sets up a showdown next week for the division (Harold has lost his matchup) and the #1 seed. Depending on what Harold does next week, the loser of that game could find themselves the #4 seed (setting up a rematch the next week).

Phi Slamma fought so hard to get back into the playoff picture, but he got a dud from his team at the worst possible time. His apparent loss (down 14 with Pierre Garcon against 4 players) and Lethal's victory over Lester (Lester has had all players play and is down 4) knocks him out of the race for the division and the playoffs.

Los Pollos Shermanos' performance against Phi Slamma has a surprising twist. His victory sets up a showdown with Lester Hayes for the final spot in the consolation bracket. 7 weeks ago this would have been a laughable scenario. Lester was leading the division at 4-2, and Sherman was 0-6. But a reversal of fates has them tied at 5-8 and playing for the weeks 15 & 16.

Lots to be played for next week.

Side notes about the league from the record books

Jimmy Rustlers is going to beat his own single week scoring record of 254.94 set last year against The Lords of Tracy in week 8.

Lester Hayes has horrible luck this year. He lead the league in highest average Margin of Victory at 48.86, as well as lowest Margin of Defeat 19.18.

Phi Slamma is currently holding the league record for average points against @ 167.10, which is fitting since Sherman who averages 132.69 per game is on pace to score over 160 against Slamma this week.

In week 10, Lester Hayes beat The Boz 154.78-149.60 while his players only scored 1 TD (tied for the lowest in the league this season). The only other times a team scored 1 TD were both in week 5, UW scored 111.82 and Sherman scored 90.05 (lowest score of the season).

Phi Slamma put up a league high 505 passing yards in week 8, but still lost to Lethal 187.58-171.99. This was a league record.

UW put up a league record low of 10 rushing yards in a week 6 loss to Jummy. He started both his RBs. He is on pace to break his own league record for fewest rushing yard set last season.

Sonny had a league low of 190 receiving yards in a week 8 loss to Harold, then won 2 weeks later when Phi Slamma equaled the feat.
