Going to be interesting to hear the numbers of the contract. He was said to want $9 million a year so wonder if he gave the Patriots a discount or not.

Revis was said to be deciding between the Pats and Jets, after his comments around the SB about the Jets you would think it would be the Pats. That is unless he's blown away by $ from the Jets

I wonder what this does for Revis. I'm sure he gets cut. We're over the cap right now.

He can keep losing then.

He most likely signed for less.

Kudos for him for taking a little less to stay with the team he likes.

The deal is for five years and $47.5 million, with $28.5 million guaranteed, a source told ESPN.com.

How do the Patriots fit this into the cap?

According to overthecap.com, the Patriots are already $4.7m over the cap before signing McCourty.

... because the Patriots cap numbers include Revis' $25M cap hit. Which is in the form of an option pickup if he's on the roster in a few days.

Look for Mayo's ($10.2+-m), Revis' ($25m) and Solder's ($7.4m) cap numbers to change significantly soon. A long term deal for Gostkowski, whose franchise cap hit is about $4.6m and a restructure or release of Danny Amendola could free up a good chunk as well.
