Cap space: $32,636,047

Who is going to go to give us more cap?
Jake Bailey and Devin McCourty could save us some money.

Talk about scary. Even with a $16M increase, 15 teams are still in the minus for 2023.

The Eagles and Commanders are both under $10M.

There's going to be a lot of salary dumping and trades for low picks just to get a little breathing space. The Chiefs have $11M and they're going to have to do some pretty dancing to wiggle enough money to even attempt to resign players. Super Bowl or not, not many guys are willing to take a discount. Not many are making enough to keep restricting contracts that will keep someone else getting paid.

The Saints are at -$58M. There should be an OT or two that BB could get for 6th or 7th round picks.
LT James Hurst
T Trevor Penning
WR Michael Thomas

With plenty of money to play with.

Seems we have ample space to make some legit additions.
Agreed. And with so many teams being cash strapped, it's also an opportunity to make some very good deals in the trade market. Just have to be very careful that he doesn't take on too big of salary and weaken his bargaining in free agency.

If some of the players available are expecting to make a big financial score, then they'll be playing in Chicago ($99M). Money drops off big time to Atlanta ($56M), Cincinnati. Giants and then the Patriots at $38M.

BB might be able to get a good LT in a trade if it's someone making under $15M.

Even the Franchise tags prices are prohibitive.

  • Quarterback: $29.70 million
  • Defensive end: $17.86 million
  • Wide receiver: $18.42 million
  • Linebacker: $18.70 million
  • Cornerback: $17.29 million
  • Defensive tackle: $17.40 million
  • Offensive line: $16.66 million
  • Safety: $12.91 million
  • Running back: $9.57 million
  • Tight end: $10.93 million
  • Specialists: $5.22 million

$38 mil.
$158 mil in 2024.
Everybody has a different number. None of them are accurate - it depends on how you calculate.
$158 million in 2024 is tortally meaningless. We are going to extend players, release players, and sign players.
This year will change next year.

Well written. Agree with most of it.
I think we have 11 draft picks and need 11 good picks!
Not going to happen but we can hope.....
Ill be honest if Skoronski and Paris Johnson are both gone at 14 I have zero issues with the Pats taking Broedrick Jones

Absolutely. However, several mocks have him as 1st OT pick! We will have to see the games this weekend (and the combine) to make educated picks. Shrine bowl 8:30 tonight, NFL Network, Fubo TV and ????) Senior bowl Saturday, 2:30 PM, NFL Network, NFL.com, Fubo TV.

Combine:

If three OTs go in the first 13 picks I would be shocked.

What I have seen a lot is

1. Skoronski
2. Johnson
3. Jones.

I have seen 1 and 2 flipped but have not seen Jones @1

NFL Network has him going 1st, before Paris 2nd and Skoronski 3rd. I would take Jones before Skoronski but still want Paris 1st.....

In the end I think all three are solid picks

I'm still hoping for Darnell Washington in the 2nd.

He has some "wow" contested catches where opponents just bounce off his frame. After the catch, he is shockingly fast and nimble (see: the hurdle vs. Oregon). He is a dominant run blocker, as he latches onto and displaces defensive ends with ease. Overall, Washington has tremendous value because he functions as a sixth offensive lineman in the run game and he's a moving billboard in the passing game.
