A lot have been saying that recently. Who knows, it's not like any other team is beating down his door right now either. Maybe he drops his price and we end up with him. I'm still hopeful. He certainly has his warts...

Maybe not, but if he were a hot commodity, he'd already be off the market. Past history and that bonfire probably have a lot of teams wary. I think he gets a one year prove it deal somewhere or a 2-3 year deal with very little guaranteed money

Mcclain was a beast when healthy. One concern is he seemed a little injury prone and he is a risk to be suspended

I'd like to see McClain remain in Dallas but he has no leverage. If he thinks he does then adios amigo

If he goes it wouldn't be much of a loss.

He was our best LB for most of the season. As PDay says, if he out prices himself let him walk but to act as though he wasn't an asset is simply idiotic.
I never said he didn't contribute but he can be replaced with a lower cost alternative. I don't see very many teams showing an interest in this guy.

I must have missed the message saying we need to bring him in no matter what the cost is. Again if he wants to much don't resign him, but if we can get his talent at a team friendly price I'd more than welcome him.

I'll agree to disagree

I agree with your disagreement. I just watched the last half of the Seattle game and loved the game that RM played. He seemed to be a heck of a player for us this past year and I for one was counting on him to come back and play better with the group he was going to get to play with.

Lets review a few facts and then proceed to your contract $$$$.
1. You under achieved in Oakland. With the Raiders It's hard I know but you retired remember ?
2 You came back with the Ravens signed and then retired again Remember ?
3. When you were traded to the Cowboys it was for a 7th round conditional pick. What pick were you in the draft again? oh that's right 4th overall. Damn you feel off that far ! Why
4 Yea the fans did not know about the failed drug tests. a 4 game fine is coming and your 1 eff up from a suspension from the league.
5 Your played lights out when you were on the Field but you also became injury prone and could not stay on the field.
6. Now what exactly are your contract requirements again?
7.Tell you what sign a team friendly contract with the Cowboys for 2 years with 1 million guaranteed contingent on not failing another drug test and payable at the end of the contract. Stephen can work out the rest. Play hard and stay off the Dope and you get another monster payday, otherwise Thank you and good luck

I feel like the Cowboys lately have a trend of finding low risk high reward players and signing them to low ball contracts that's ok if its a guy here and a guy there, but it seems that the Cowboys are doing this with such frequency that eventually team continuity will suffer. At some point when guys produce you have to show them the money. I thought the the reason we let Murray walk was to better allocate that money. Meanwhile Dez hasn't got a contract. We've already loss 2 and a (p) of our starting LB core. I'm glad the Cowboys have change there approach, but they went from grossly over paying guys to not wanting to pay anyway. I think McClain at least deserves a mid level contract.

There going this route due to the number of overpaid contracts and redo's from past years. No were not exactly in cap hell but we are close enough to touch that celling. It will probably take to more years operating in this manner before we are clear to operate normally.

As for McClain he played good enough to earn a respectable offer, but he's still an injury and retirement risk. I want him back in Dallas, but not at a cap busting deal. With this team cap situation that means he gets low balled. If another team offers a better deal let him walk with no hate on the man.
