I'll engage in smack from time to time, but like Big D., its not really my thing either. So don't worry about maybe I was offended if I don't respond in kind, sometimes I just ain't feeling it.

Put me in this boat too. We had a nice respectful A league last year didn't we? ha

Ohhh trust me, I can take it. My theory, if you can't take it, don't dish it out.

:agree::agree::agree:

And, this seems so simple, huh? However, when you turn it around, people seem to get all lost. Anytime I would bring up the fact that as I did not "give it", that I should not be expected to "take it", it always ended with be being bad, weird, or worse, in a "but that is just not how it goes" sort of way.

Seems pretty linear and logical to me....

It's really simple, but some people don't get the concept.

Hey Philabuster - I don't know if you have posted this and I missed it, but what are your thoughts on the Kinsler/Fielder deal? Everyone seems pretty down on my boy Kinsler...except the ladies, of course.

I still don't like Kinsler, and I think Fielder will blow up in Texas.
Saying all that, from a baseball perspective the trade made a lot of sense. I hated on Kinsler for the past 2 years. Now, I think his value is much better if only because he's a sure 2B now. The weight loss is good too. I like it as a fan because the Tigers were hot/cold on offense because of their lack of speed and patience. They could go weeks without scoring a lot of runs even with Miggy and Fielder. I feel like they would have been a better team going in to 2014 if they hadn't dumped Fister.
Bullpen is still a mess too. (JOBA? really?)
Back to your question: This will be first time I'm rooting for Kinsler in a long time! I don't expect the power to ever come back, but some speed at top of the lineup will be good. I loved Fielder despite his seeming lack of desire to play in Detroit. My first reaction was anger, now I've warmed up to the trade.

When you say Fielder will blow up in Texas, is that in a good or bad way? I don't think you're talking about his weight, although that could happen...

I take it as a good way, but the body does start to resemble Cecil more and more.
The Pablo Sandoval diet will only get you so far in baseball.:laugh3:

We are still looking for 1 more in the Prospect League, but we need to proceed with voting anyway. As stated in the Constitution, the vote must reach 2/3 majority in order to change an existing setting. If someone abstains from voting, it will not count toward either side. For example, if 24 owners vote, we would need 16 affirmative to change a rule. If only 12 vote, then we need 8. BOTH leagues must use the same settings, so everyone is included on the vote. Right now the existing scoring system uses the traditional 5 x 5 categories.

Here are the initiatives:

1) Should we move from 5x5 to 6x6? If yes, we would add both OPS (on-base+slugging) and Holds as separate categories.

2) Should we change BA (Batting Average) to OBP (On base Percentage) to more accurately reflect a hitter's true value?

3) Should we use QS (Quality Starts) Instead of Wins as a pitching category?

4) Should we change the saves category to Saves + Holds to make more relievers relevant?

*Please note that if we decide to move to 6x6 initiative 4 (and maybe 2) will become irrelevant.

Voting will close 1 week from today on 2/26 at midnight. Please get your votes in.

I vote no for all, using the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" platform.

But, then again, I will roll with whatever we come up with.

1. No, hate holds as separate category, especially with weekly lineups.
2. Yes but don't care either way.
3. yes
4. I'll go with majority

Looks like Quality Starts is gaining some support...until the old guys chime in :laugh3:
