Wow. Impressive stuff.

By the way Big D, I love the Adam Dunn purge. I am sure someone will grab him, but I bet that felt good.

It was actually painful. However, after giving him too much leash in 2011, I felt I had to cut bait now, or suffer the same fate again. Funny, in that he was the final pick on 2 or 3 of my teams last year, and that worked out pretty well.

And, the pain is not so much in the loss of Dunn, but the fact that is seems like, in our league at any given time, that there are only about 10 useful guys on the waiver wire, and they don't always fill the team need you are trying to fill.

The only thing about Taveras, is that he's two injuries/trades away from everyday PT. Matt Adams has thrown a wrench in there... unless of course, they just put the kid in center and stop pretending John Jay is not a 4th outfielder.

Question: Who gets called up first?

1. Jemile Weeks (can't understand why they called Rosales up, and Sogard can't satisfy them.

2. Nick Castellanos (Dirks is yet to show up, and their other options are comedic at best...he's been playing LF all year in Toledo, not hitting the cover off the ball, but projects to be a good hitter, and hitting 6th or 7th in the Tigers lineup is probably less pressure than hitting 3rd in Toledo's lineup (aside from the "real" pressure the Majors exudes.)

Who will come up first? I don't want to drop Castellanos, but if Weeks gets called up, it would help my roster better.

I have no idea. If you drop Castellanos (I'm assuming this is a dynasty type league) you'll lose him forever I assume? Not sure Weeks would provide enough help (even if you're going all-in) to make that worthwhile.
Castellanos is starting to heat up now, and the Tigers are pretty aggressive. I'd be surprised though if it was any time soon. I can see Dirks having a lot of rope and Tuisokalafrajalistic seems to be giving them what they need in a RH platoon. (esp today!!)
So, basically I'm no help answering your question at all. I think Weeks won't help and Castellanos will be a while :)

sounds good, I was thinking the same about Weeks last night... why am I getting so excited for his potential call up to bat 9th while he still can't hit LHP.

I'll hold on Castellanos, no it's not a dynasty, not even a keeper league, but a deep 15 team league with nobody left to bother with to put on my bench right now...and he's 3B eligible, but will gain LF after 10 games, at which point, he can slot into my Util spot, which needs to be a multi-position eligible player.

Tuisokalafrajalistic

LOL

My team is having their best week of the season, but it may not be enough to avoid another loss. Varrys' pitchers are killing me. Did not see that 17 K performance from Sanchez coming.

I have come to the conclusion that I am the George Steinbrenner of fantasy baseball...I have no patience. I am determined to change that this year and run the marathon.

That is, unless someone offers me a really cool trade...:yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

Speaking of trades :).....I'm looking for a BIG bat. Really BIG, if anyone needs an arm. Moore, Lee, Zimmermann all available. (Any of my arms are)

Just a simple 1-1 deal would be ideal.
I've sent a couple offers out there, but if I've missed you and you're interested, I'm game!

Chef,

Maybe you can help me out with this. Why in the world do the Mets have Davis and Valdespin batting 7 and 8 with Baxter and Tejada at 1 and 2? Does that make any sense? I can understand moving Davis out of the 4 spot and down to 6 or 7, but what do Baxter and Tejada bring to the table? Seems silly to me.

Makes no sense to me at all. I guess I can see an excuse for Tejada at 2, but Spin should be leading off. Baxter's only here because we have no one better. As for Ike...well, I think they're getting a bit frustrated with him. Word is that he looks totally defeated at the plate. Keith Hernandez has referred to him as
"Dave Kingman with less HR's and a lower BA." That hurts. :gaah:

Ouch. Davis is showing signs of a turnaround though, which is why the timing of the move down is a little suspect. He has 3 HRs in the last 5 starts, 2 starts being against lefties. Today he is 1 for 1 with a double and a sac fly early on. I don't think he is great by any stretch, but two weeks ago was the time to move him down, not now.

I agree that he's showing signs of coming around, but Duda has a much better OBP, and they batted him 7th initially. More than likely they're just trying to hit on a winning formula.

Note to Wilpons: Better Players = Winning Formula. And while yer at it, stay away from the ponzi schemes! :hellno:
