MBBRL Official Thread

Although it pains me to start this thread again, here we go.

The MBBRL is a league full of devoted former CBS posters who have come together to enjoy some fierce competition. Many have already made their way over to sportshoopla, but some have not yet.

At the time of this post, we are finishing up week 3. Although much data and banter have been discarded by CBS' rash decision, we are extremely grateful to the folks at Sportshoopla for the opportunity to post here. This thread serves as the official means of communication for all league members and also as a way for us "gurus" to put our money where our mouth is, so to speak, as league details are available to anybody checking this forum.

Here is our list of participants, in order of current league standing:

The format is a traditional 5x5 category based head-to-head with weekly changes. Keep in mind that early season standings do not necessarily reflect team performance in this format.

Hell, you might as well hang onto him awhile longer and see what happens. I pretty much agree with Rev about him, but I still think I should've hung onto him just to know for sure.

I traded for Tex last year to give me one final big bat for my playoff run.

Sigh...time for fun with next week. It's actually not too bad....just need to decide between Duda, Marte, Cain and Soriano for an OF/util spot, what to do with Sally P. and Gattis, and decide on Detwiler or Cobb for the 6th pitching spot. Hallelujah for Freeman and Headley, they make things a bit easier.

Yea I thought about it, and then I did it. I don't know if I'll use him, but I do know that nobody will be using him against me.

It will be very interesting to see what the Yanks line-up looks like when/if they have everyone healthy. One of their corner IFs will have to be the odd man out as they can't play Tex, Youk, Arod and Pronk at the same time.

Also, who will occupy the prime line-up spots? Based on what they have done so far, I am guessing something like this:

1-Jeter
2-Cano
3-Youkilis
4-Teixara
5-Granderson
6- Arod/Pronk
7- some corner OF
8- Cervelli/ other C
9- Gardner

Obviously there will be changes depending on pitcher handedness, but what do you guys think? Do they dare bench Arod? They probably should.

A-Rod is so done it isn't even funny. Even if he does get back to full health, the pressure he is under (both real and perceived) will bury him. He may as well just wait 'til next year...if there is one for him.
