So... as a FAAB novice...

Suppose I have a bid in for player X for $100, dropping player Z to make room, as my first priority
And a bid in for player Y for $100, also dropping player Z as my second priority

Now suppose Joe has a bid in for player Y for $90 as his first priority
And a bid in for player X for $110 as his second priority

Is Fantrax smart enough to account for the priorities, or might it look at Player X first and give him to Joe because he outbid me?

I always assumed that the more expensive bid is your top priority. I think fantrax and most sites make this assumption.

I believe the priority system is to manage your adds/drops and roster mgmt. Fantrax will ultimately award the free agent to whichever team bids the highest amount, regardless who had that transaction as priority 1 vs 2

Huh. Because at least this week there's a player I like more that I think I can get more cheaply, so I'd rather have that transaction go first, and only if I'm wrong shell out a little more money for a player I want a little less.

But it makes sense for them to just prioritize by highest bid. Lemme see if my history has any clues.

Joe’s priority would be to add the $90 player. And if he were dropping the same player or using his open bench spot…

Then he would get the $90 player as his top priority.

And would get the $110 only if the player he indicated as his drop was still on his roster.

Top $ for a player trumps priority, but any move you submit becomes invalid if the player you were dropping is no longer on your roster

You are right Wil.

Higher priority will be filled first

Last week the order listed in Fantrax (although the timestamp is the same minute of course) was:

$1000 Bijan to bks
$221 Lamar to Tlance
$25 Rodgers to Chef
$205 Davante to Joe
$27 Kmet to Monkey
$1 Seattle to Gronkey Kong
$101 Dowdle to Stu
$6 Michael Wilson to Monkey
$0 Doubs to Tlance
$11 Pacheco to Monkey
$0 Karty to Stu
$0 Emanuel Wilson to Smitty
$2 Lions DST to Stu
$0 Njoku to Smitty

So for you, Monkey, looks like it went by some order other than $.

$27 Kmet
$6 Wilson
$11 Pacheco

In my case, though, there's a conflict. Joe's highest priority is my second priority, but I outbid him. Is Fantrax smart enough to stash that transaction, then go back and give me my first priority even though Joe outbid me for it as his second priority?

Priority only matter for YOUR bids.

If Joe’s $110 bid was his 10th priority it would go through if it was still valid.

Only reason it wouldn’t go through would be if his higher priority had him dropping the same player (or nobody) and that player was already gone thereby eliminating his lower priorities.

Okay, so it will, say, process my $1 third-priority claim before my $2 fourth-priority claim.

My question then is this - suppose somebody bid $1 for my fourth-priority claim, as their first priority? I'm assuming that transaction is cached, because neither of us should win it yet, pending the result of my third-priority claim.

(My hypothetical is circular, though. Joe's second claim applies if his first claim fails, but his first claim only fails because of my second claim, which only applies if my first claim fails, which only fails if his second claim applies. Loop. Curious how it handles a loop.)

i guess it all depends on if he is dropping the same player...
