There isn’t to me.

The game is about acquiring as many studs as you can so you have a chance to win.

And overthinking the early season does not maximize chances to win. IMO.

Need to get lucky to some degree in this format.

I’ve been eyeballing Baker Mayfield since before the draft. lol

Wanted to take him with my last pick. But I couldn’t trust Joe.

Idk. I just don’t want to lose week one.

Last year I had stud team. Lost two of my studs in the first quarter of a game about half way through the season. Got eliminated on the last play of Monday night football. Gather your studs and hope for some luck.

If I lose on account of Baker, thinking I’ll have made it a few weeks.

Well I handicapped myself for maybe the first two weeks, but if I survive hopefully it turns out to be worth the risk. He may end up on the IR when the Chiefs cut down to 53 players then I can pick up a JAG.

A common mistake drafters make is not paying attention to the to the rosters of those drafting around you. It can help maximize value.

And he will likely end up with a really solid QB still.

Wish I could’ve held out.

But I don’t want Cousins. And he’s who I prolly would’ve taken if I trusted Joe not to take Mayfield. I mean, if I’d trusted Joe and he’d taken Mayfield anyway.

Two QBs that I wondered if he’d take.

Warms my heart to know someone reads my posts. But it was not for this Guillotine league.

Guilty. I like Cousins. In the last decade he has played for 2 teams and 7 different coordinators.

In that time, since 2015 he has finished in the top 12 among QB in 8 of 10 seasons.

One of the 2 he didnt, he finished 13th. The other was last season (2024) when he only played 8 games and finished 24th.

And thats quite a story in itself. Last year Cousins was on pace to finish 5th. And after not playing for more than half the season... of 32 NFL teams, he finished 24th.

Was surprised to see Stafford and Mayfield go (they would have been my coin toss if Cousins was taken). More surprsied to see Caleb Williams available. He was the 11th QB taken in the other Guillotine. (But it was with meatball Bears fans so there's that.)
